Good Points: Beautiful grounds and location
Bad Points: Rooms seemed in need of some attention to design and furnishing. The bar was closed Saturday evening!
Further Comments: For a couple of nights only it was OK but with a little more thought and attention it coulkd be excellent

Good Points: Comfortable bed; good space; good heating control; very friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating staff; wi-fi and internet room.
Bad Points: Unreliability of equipment. Had to change first room due to non-worknig light fitting; only two of five elecrical gym machines in working order; key card failed during week; shower very cool on final morning.
Further Comments: This is a very quiet and relaxing hotel in lovely grounds, with top rate staff for helpfulness and approachability. The restaurant was expensive so I did not try it; the bar meals were good and reasonable. Unfortunately, the standard of maintenance of the fixtures and fittings let it down a bit, although the bed was very comfortable and the heating was totally adjustable to whatever suited - unlike many hotels I've stayed in. I've booked in for another week so on balance I guess I liked it.

Good Points: Nice grounds and good location. Had free wireless access throughout the hotel.
Bad Points: The rooms are in dire need of modernisation. Internet access failed and was not repaired until the following day.

Good Points: The place is very pretty- the grounds and the old fashioned interior- please don't do it up!
Bad Points: we weren't told that the dinner was ￂﾣ25- we thought this was a little bit steep, although it was nice.
Further Comments: We found it difficult to get a cup of tea- because it seems to be mostly corporate, perhaps. We didn't discover the bar until much later. It is a stunning location and we liked the old fashioned style of the corridors and bedroom. It was good that we could get into our room very early- not long after midday. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly. We think it should be clearer that the price quoted is without VAT.

Bad Points: cheap formulaeic layout and cheap rooms with horrible decor that really let the overall look of the hotel down.
Further Comments: Hotel has been ruined by a number of corporate owners re-designing the interior to suit corporate functions with no regard to the original features / character of the hotel. However a discussion with the manager revealed that fortunately someone was going to re-design the interior to return it to its former quality and splendour.

Good Points: Very grand & picturesque hotel and grounds. Inside was very tidy, clean and fairly spacious. The full English Breakfast was very good.
Bad Points: The soundproofing between rooms was slightly poor though I was unaffected by it. If there had been some noisy guests this could have been a problem.
Further Comments: Overall I would recommend the accomodation to anyone. There was an issue over your web-site though, as it said there was no parking!!!! I had already booked when I noticed this & nearly just cancelled straight away but phoned the contact number first. They checked & confirmed with the hotel that there was plenty of parking available. This is something you need to correct urgently on your web-site.
