Good Points: Clean, comfortable and good value for money.

Good Points: Clean
Bad Points: Terrible creaking central heating system, only one small towel between 2 of us and there wasn't a hair dryer.
Further Comments: If I had known about the above then I would have booked into another hotel and spent the extra money.

Further Comments: very comfotable room although some of the furniture eg chair and suitcase stand were slightly worn.

Good Points: Clean and tidy, plenty of towels
Bad Points: Lumpy mattress and flat pillows.
Further Comments: Nice greeting on arrival, very friendly staff, shown the hotel and what was on offer, then shown room and back entrance, one thing against the hotel was the thin walls, are neighbours were noisy!!!. Easy walking distance to Old Shanklin village and on a bus route.

Good Points: Well / recently decorated. Clean rooms and lounge. Good breakfast.
Bad Points: Bed was a bit small.
Further Comments: Stayed overnight. Everywhere was well decorated and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Good breakfast selection (but stopped serving at 9am which I thought was a bit early). Front of hotel very pretty - back in the process of being renovated I think. Some of the furniture in the room had an MFI flatpack feel to it but was in good condition. As for the cost - we did go in February, but it was fantastic value for money. Overall would recommend it highly.

Further Comments: The hotel is in a good location and is of my opinion of a very high standard for a 2 star hotel, the food was good the staff were pleasant and the room comfortable. would recommend

Good Points: the localisation
Bad Points: the shower was not functioning properly (old and rusty), the quality of the breakfast was poor for the price!
Further Comments: The map showed attached to the booking online indicated the wrong information.The wrong postcode was attached to it !!!! We walked over an hour from Shanklin to Sandown then Sandown to Shanklin to finally find the accomodation.

Good Points: we were pleasantly suprised on arrival as regards friendly helpful staff, rooms were clean and towels freshly provided daily,meals were good ,the service even better,we were especially pleased that coffe for three was provided during the day (raining) at no extra cost, in all a pleasant stay. Bad Points: the only drawback was inadequate shower facilities due to faulty mixing system,it was dealt with promptly but was still akward to use,other than that ,no problems
Further Comments: we had a very pleasant stay at the sommerton lodge we were concerned at first about the two star rating but need not have been worried as the hotel/room we had was clean and comfortable(aprt from problem with the shower as noted) the staff were excellent, both friendly and helpful nothing was aproblem for them.the meals were very good and dining area was pleasent too, thank you for a pleasant stay.

Good Points: The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was lovely. The decorations in the hotel was lovely as well.
Bad Points: At breakfast I had a dead ladybird in my cup, as well as on the table, and on my chair, which put me off a little bit. Also the accomadation is a little further to the sea then we thought.
Further Comments: The hotel is a little walk from the sea, we thought it was closer then it actually was. The hotel was very original and beauiful inside. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and very positive.

Good Points: It was convenient for touring the island.
Bad Points: We found the bedroom and bathroom small, and I would have liked the option of a bath ensuite - although we were offered a bath elsewhere in the hotel. The shower cubicle was very small. Also, we found the bed very uncomfortable, and had to ask to have the matress changed because it was very soft and lumpy.
