Bad Points: Everything
Further Comments: Our room had no curtains, - just a filthy venetian blind. A shower which was very poor both in amount of water provided, available space and the shower head would not stay in place. Floor tiles in entrance to bathroom were broken & loose - dangerous to bare feet. The room was cold & drafty and VERY noisy.( road noise is mentioned on the website) Some mention should be made in the hotel information on the website about the renovations currently being carrried out. A new washbasin was stored outside out room door. Breakfast was a miserable affair - no fruit juice until the young man went to the local shop. we gave up and went to M & S instead. TV on wall between twin beds means that only one person can watch TV at any one time! The thought of returning to this Hotel for the second nights stay was too depressing so we drove 200+ miles home instead.

Good Points: Hotel in the middle of a mayor renovation, new stuff looks good.
Bad Points: Unable to get to reception on arrival because of building work. Full cooked breakfast is extra. Drunk people catching taxi's on the road just outside the window kept me awake.
Further Comments: Duel personality of a hotel. Staff were friendly room appeared to be half renovated- one nice wall with lovely new wall paper, new bed but very old bedside table and a bathroom in need of TLC. Ok but not really that clean. No towels in my room on arrival.

Good Points: Accomodation was ensuite and had a portable tv beds were good and clean linen was clean
Bad Points: The main one being the room was level with the main road london road and the traffic noise was intolerable,also a minor thing but their wasnt enough coffee or tea or sugar I also thought the lock on the door wasnt adequate.The breakfast was woeful and consisted of a choice of corn and bran flakes and a coffee the first batch of cornflakes being stale,however some were brought

Good Points: Hotel situￃﾃￂﾩ proche du centre ville d'Edimbourg, tres bien desservi en transports en commun. Bon sￃﾃￂﾩjour et bon hotel.
Bad Points: Nous sommes tombￃﾃￂﾩs en pleine rￃﾃￂﾩnovation d'une partie de l'hotel, mais cela ne nous a pas trop gￃﾃￂﾩnￃﾃￂﾩ.
Further Comments: Nous aurions souhaiter savoir si le personnel de l'hotel ￃﾃￂﾩtait bilingue, ce qui aurait ￃﾃￂﾩtￃﾃￂﾩ plus facile, car 3 personnes sur 5 ne parlaient pas anglais. Sinon, l'article de prￃﾃￂﾩsentation ￃﾃￂﾩtait assez complet, nous n'avons pas eu de mauvaises surprises en arrivant.

Good Points: Cheap, good bed, good shower, plesant staff, close to city centre and shopping.
Bad Points: Old worn out, in need of refurbishment.
Further Comments: Very basic hotel situated close to main ammenities and sites in Edinburgh's east end. Not luxury but good value. In need of extensive refurbishment but otherwise adequate for our purpose.

Good Points: It is a walking distance from the train station and to the city centre.
Bad Points: There is no enough water in the shower, not enough towels.
Further Comments: The room is clean but the only thing that needs improving is the shower, there is not enough water. We stayed there for 4 nights, the first few days we were given few towels but the last day of our stay, there is none left.

Good Points: great food. i hadn't realised in advance that there would be an extra charge for a cooked breakfast but the continental breakfast was more than enough to set me up for the day.
Bad Points: the shower head in the twin room kept slipping down and had been held on with tape. the check-in people (because of the computer) thought i'd booked a double rather trhan a twin room - and ui'm very sure i booked a twin, since sleeping with my friends is hazardous. luckily the twin room was free but what if it hadn't been? the keys weren't ready for us when we first arrived and i had to call back in the middle of a busy evening to collect them.
