St George's near York: York Hotels

Good Points: more or less all was what i would of expected
Further Comments: this was a very nice hotel considering the price. the atmosphere around the breakfast tables was very good. if you are a race goer it is idealy situated, as for the city centre yes it is a nice walk, on our stay it was a very cold night so a taxi into town on the night was ordered at a reasonable rate and good service, the staff at the hotel were very friendly too no complaints what so ever.

Good Points: The room was lovly, the staff were friendly and breakfest to our room was a real treat
Bad Points: It was a little bit cold at night.
Further Comments: as stated above, very nice hotel and would stay again. Wireless internet and breakfest in bed were great treats.

Good Points: Friendly staff, warm welcome
Further Comments: 20 minute walk into York, but number of resturants within 12 - 15 mins. Car Parking on the street or behind the Hotel. Hotel situated in a pleasant area of York.

Further Comments: SMALL WELL RUN HOTEL STAFF HELPFUL AND CHEERFUL WHEN APPROACHED. FELT VERY WELCOME WHEN CHECKING IN. ACCOMODATION VERY CLEAN. QUIET ATMOSPHERE. WELL SITUATED FOR TOWN. NICE SURROUNDINGS FOOD EXCELLENT SERVED FRESHLY COOKED EXCELLENT TABLE SERVICE.WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE STAYING IN YORK

Bad Points: Mattress a bit on the firm side.
Further Comments: Very friendly hotel in a nice peaceful location just a 10-15 minute walk into the city centre. Breakfast was very good (fruit, cereals, full english and toast) and the biggest ginger cat you are ever likely to encounter.

Good Points: It was very convenient for the city. Room was clean although rather dated. We had breakfast in bed which was wonderful
Bad Points: The hotel is clean and well kept but could do with some modernisation. A big task which is not doubt in hand
Further Comments: This hotel has potential to be very good, particulary given its location. There is work to be done on internal decor but it is friendly and very good value. We love York had a good time and soon got used to the homely environment of the hotel.

Good Points: The B&B was very cosy, friendly and welcoming. Our room was at the top of the house so we didn't get a lot of noise.
Bad Points: It would have been nice to have a shower as well as a bath in the ensuite.
Further Comments: Really enjoyed our stay, the hosts were extremely friendly but not intrusive. Breakfasts were excellent and it was nice to have the option of breakfast in bed.

Good Points: Clean and comfortable room. Free internet access (wireless).
Bad Points: Attention to detail - radio alarm broken and useless - should be replaced or just removed.
Further Comments: Friendly, family-run, traditional hotel. Plenty of free parking (quiet cul-de-sac + small car park). Within walking distance of the town.

Good Points: The overall size of the room was very nice and was equiped to a good standard carpets were very clean
Bad Points: The matress on the bed was awfull and should be replaced as you could feel every spring no shower over bath?
Further Comments: The owners were very helpful and could not do enough for you and the breakfast was excellent.

Good Points: Very friendly couple, nothing was too much trouble - food was brilliant, well cooked and plentiful.
Further Comments: Booking was so easy so no complaints. I'm sure that all angles were covered - eg proximity of hotel to the main city centre (York in this case). Overall, the booking process, the quality of the accommodation and the friendliness of the owners was excellent. The rating system really helped and was instrumental in making up our minds when choosing. As we had never stayed in York before, your rating system was crucial. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable - we will definitely return to St George if we come back to York.
