Good Points: The Restaurant and Staff at the Hotel were very helpful, professional and friendly. The grounds and room were large. The room itself was clean and tidy. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Bad Points: The walls were quite thin and the reception needs updating to bring it out of the 70's.
Further Comments: I would have liked to have known a little bit more about the rooms and what they contained. An On-line menu would also have been helpful for the restaurant.

Good Points: Location close to river with beautiful views.
Bad Points: The breakast was not so good.
Further Comments: The hotel has a nice situation and the rooms are very good. The breakfast and breakfast room were less impressive and could be improved.

Good Points: Large well-furnished room, everything in working order, good shower. Kettle for tea and coffee, biscuits provided.
Bad Points: Thin walls - could hear everything going on in adjoining rooms. No extra blankets provided.
Further Comments: Overall an excellent choice for a moderate price - a very easy 10 min walk from the train station, and 5 mins in the opposite direction to the cathedral (another 2 mins into town). Breakfast is filling if unexciting. The whole place is a tad old-fashioned but clean, comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff are competent and friendly (although the breakfast staff seem to suffer from amnesia when it comes to serving beverages).

Good Points: Lovely, nice size room overlooking the rivers, fields and the cathedral. It was clean and tidy. Full English breakfast was enjoyable and served in the restaurant overlooking the lawn.
Further Comments: The hotel is in an excellent location and easy to find by car,free parking. Salisbury town centre is a 15/20 minute walk away, either via the town footpath passing open fields or through the streets passing thatched cottages and the Rose and Crown Coaching Inn on the way. Good location for visiting Stonehenge.

Good Points: Spacious room and access to garden - great for the dog. The location
Bad Points: Public areas needed refurbishment.
Further Comments: Difficult to indicate on online booking that we were travelling with one child and a small dog. I had to phone the hotel to clarify the arrangements for this. It's quite pricey for the quality of the accomodation and the facilities. The location was great - right on the river, as was the room itself - spacious with direct access to the garden. The public areas, however, need refurbishment and let down the overall ambience you would expect for a hotel in this price range. Also, there was no reduction for a child aged 9 sharing a room. We were limited by the fact that we had to book a hotel that accepted a dog ( and a child) but felt that in comparison to other hotels in Salisbury we did not get value for money. The staff were very helpful and friendly though.

Good Points: Room and facilities very good.
Further Comments: Breakfast not included and no indication of cost so we decided not to eat breakfast at the hotel. Evening meal taken on first night of stay was very expensive and not of a very good standard. There was a wedding in the hotel at the same time and this may have had some effect on the production of the meal. We decided not to eat at the hotal again.

Further Comments: A very nice hotel - comfortable rooms. I was unexpectedly very late arriving and this did not phase the staff at all.

Good Points: lovely large room - the quiet and privacy
Bad Points: room on ground floor was a bit dark but still very nice
Further Comments: i would have liked to have made a choice about kind of bed and size of bath etc... we had also been told there would be a view nd onthe ground floor this was limited. despite all this it was still a very nice room indeed and ocnfortable and quiet. the staff were very helpful and kind indeed
