Good Points: The Courtlands Hotel is a typical 'sea side' hotel which you expect and want when visitng somewhere like Brighton- it was friendly, clean, comfortable and the staff where very helpful
Further Comments: The reception staff where extremely helpful and accomendate all our needs. The rooms where spacious, clean and well equipted- will defiantely recommend to a friend.

Good Points: staff, hotel ambience, clean.
Bad Points: shower was a bit touch and go but other than that the hotel was everything we expected and more.
Further Comments: The flexability and friendlyness of staff was refreshing. After a few hours in the car all we wanted to do is dump our stuff in the room and go out but we arrived earlier than our check in time. I asked the young lady on reception if i could check in early and it wasn't a problem. This might not seem much, but i've stayed at hotels where the jobsworths wouldn't let you do such a thing. Great customer service! Even allowed a late check out (sorry but it was a late night!) Will be going back to Brighton soon and will will definately stay here, even if it is 30mins walk to the pier!. everything i expected and more.

Good Points: Accomadation was comfortable; old English style which was quaint. Liked the dressing table and the cosiness of the room
Bad Points: The shower was only a trickle so it took me ages to wash the soap from my hair! Plus the lights weren't working on our arrival but this was promptly and politely fixed by your staff all of who were very accomadating and friendly.
Further Comments: It lived up to most of my expectations. Its a vey good hotel with an excellent rate compared to other Brighton/Hove hotels. The rooms are probably not as polished and smart as other hotels but it was clean and adequate and good value. Downstairs- the bar and reception was excellent- very welcoming.

Good Points: Friendly and efficient. Excellent location. Pleasant bar/lounge.
Bad Points: Layout is very complicated. Finding our room was a challenge! For the price, breakfast should have been included.
Further Comments: The Courtlands is fine for a short break being well located and generally 'OK'. Comprising two large buildings with linking 'bridges' the upstairs layout is complicated with lots of steps, multiple lifts etc. This made it very difficult to navigate with a push-chair, baby etc. The room we had was well sized but a bit dated in decor. Overall our general impression was positive with the caveat that it wasn't great value for money.

Good Points: easy online booking and checking in. Helpfull receptionist.
Bad Points: It was a bit noisy as there was a hen party going on and was still loud at midnight. The drinks from the bar were very expensive.

Good Points: Very friendly and efficient staff. Hotel is in an excellent position with fairly large car parking. Cheap taxi ride into Brighton centre. Relaxing bar area. Excellent value for special weekend deal.
Bad Points: Very little water pressure to the shower.
