Ibis Hotel York Centre near York: York Hotels

Good Points: The staff were great.
Bad Points: The radiators were disconnected! And they had electric heaters above the door which didn't produce any heat.
Further Comments: The staff were very helpful. The food was expensive, and you didn't get much. The internet in the room was difficult to use.

Good Points: The hotel was clean and modern and the staff were very very nice, especially the breakfast chef who couldn't do enough for us.
Bad Points: The shower was not very powerful (it felt like having a shower in slow-motion).
Further Comments: We had a very nice time at the Ibis York and would gladly use the hotel again should the need arise. Good, clean facilities and friendly staff. Breakfast served until 12 noon - good for us late risers after a night on the Town, and nothing was too much trouble, the Breakfast Chef was a really nice man and went all out to cater to our needs.

Good Points: The accommodation was a good standard for an inner city hotel. There are some renovation works taking place, but that aside the stay was good.
Bad Points: The heating system has an annoying hum, but the staff and the builders were charming.
Further Comments: A good standard and in a good location for the price. Value for money. Will be much better when the building work has finished. Walking distance to shopping centre and race course.

Good Points: it is in a good location and has very spacious rooms which were very comfortable
Bad Points: i know it has to be done but the refurbishment made the hotel look a little untidy other than that it was excellent

Good Points: Reasonably priced, very good location.
Bad Points: Under refurbishment, it was a bit chaotic and cleanliness was just adequate: dusty, etc
Further Comments: Will probably be a very good hotel when finished, but would have welcomed an email message before visit outlining the nature/stage of the work undertaken.

Good Points: fairly close to city centre
Further Comments: very basic accomodation, poor bar facilities, renovation work being carried outbut did not interfere with our stay.

Good Points: Room was clean, staff were friendly [but over worked]
Bad Points: Hotel was being refurbished therefore it was mostly building every where apart from out room. The staff were over worked.
Further Comments: I would like to have known that major refurbishment was going ahead. The staff have to multi task and seem to have to do all the jobs, i.e. bar, chef, reception etc.
