Russell Hotel near Weymouth: Weymouth Hotels

Bad Points: very small room had to carry cases up two flights of small stairs told we came second to week paying guest cold meals no entertainment room smellt of urine view from 4th floor window was brick wall facing beach
Further Comments: would not stay at that hotel again (CHANGED TO THE PRINCE REGENT SISTER HOTEL)

Further Comments: I had a very pleasant stay and the staff were all friendly and helpful. As a solo traveller of a certain age,I appreciated the fact there were no children.

Good Points: staff courteous, good breakfast
Bad Points: cleanliness of hotel very poor, corridors quite grubby, not been 'bottomed' for a long time. Very disturbed sleep because of quite noisy bathroom extractor fans in other rooms.
Further Comments: not very good.

Good Points: The hotel was ok for the few days i stayed for all the facilities worked and staff friendly.
Bad Points: The only bad point was the room i stayed in was a small room when i went to the toilet or had a shower i constantly had to bend down, this room was ok for somebody of below 6ft but iam 6ft 4 inches and at times this become awkward.

Bad Points: there was noise from the hotel next door going on late in the night

Bad Points: Cramped, noisy and smelly
Further Comments: It is a two star hotel that just about manages to make the grade. The poor room accommodation was only just redeemed by the fairly good breakfast served by young people who were trying to provide a good service.

Bad Points: Noisy shower-was catching an early ferry and was worried about disturbing the other guests. Also exractor fan in bathroom not working

Bad Points: Shower seemed somewhat lacking in pressure. Was a little like trying to wash under a leak. Window in room difficult to open and room far too hot on arrival.
Further Comments: The Russell reception was closed when I arrived and a sign directed me to check-in with the hotel next door. The reception staff were very helpful and the process was quick and easy. When I told the staff I would be catching the ferry in the morning, they knew what time it was leaving (impressive!) and informed me I could get a (continental) breakfast at 5:30am courtesy of the night porter. When I got to the room, the radiator was full on and the room was extremely hot. I struggled to open the old sash window, but once opened the room cooled to an acceptable temperature. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The shower caused me a few problems in the morning, but was really a minor irritation. To sum up, room was fair, staff were very good.

Bad Points: Nothing to dis-like
Further Comments: Food excellent, only had breakfast but was well looked after by all the staff the whole presentation in the dinning room was excellent. The room was very clean and tidy also the size of the room allowed you to move about, I have been in some hotels where you could not swing a cat. My wife and I will book this hotel again when in the area.

Good Points: Sea view, big bed, Parking at hotel.
Bad Points: Room being left unlocked after cleaning. (one occasion)
Further Comments: The hotel was nice close to beach and shops but the noise of the trafic was a bit over powering at times. l would go back to this hotel again.

Good Points: good service overall from staff good breakfast too..
Bad Points: hotel was boiling hot need to learn to open some windows at least in bar and resturant..phew !!
