Westcliff Hotel near Exeter: Exeter Hotels

Good Points: The good points at previous hotels were cleanliness and very good breakfasts. The Westcliffe was certainly excellent in every respect, especially the size and comfort of the room.
Bad Points: Bad points at previous hotels were the facilities and small sizes of the rooms, which were not apparent when booking online. We were lucky in this respect when booking online at the Westcliffe and cannot think of a bad point.
Further Comments: It is difficult to give an overall review when only staying for only one night, but from the small amount of time there we were very happy with the excellent service, the facilities within the room and the dining experience.

Good Points: Hotel position. Pleasantly relaxing. Excellent views.
Bad Points: Somewhat looked run-down in places. On previous stays everything was in excellent condition and the previous owners had more exacting standards and were friendly and welcoming as were the staff.
Further Comments: Would visit again if standards improved and some modernisation carried out.

Good Points: My mother and I were most impressed with the location of the hotel and the view from our bedroom window. We also were very impressed with how couteous and helpful all your staff were. We were greeted with smiles everywhere.
Bad Points: We found the cost of the evening meal a little pricy although we thought the quality very good . Perhaps we copuld be informed of packages including the price of the dinner in future.
Further Comments: We enjoyed our stay the room was of a good standard and we especially enjoyed the general ambiance of the hotel.

Bad Points: Overheated and TV pathetic
Further Comments: When will hotels learn to supply a decent TV ? In spite of reporting two light bulbs not working on arrival, proper replacements were never made. But there was a swift action when we complained about the over weight duvet.

Good Points: The hotel has great views of Sidmouth. We only used B&B facilities so can only judge breakfasts which were good.
Bad Points: The room itself was fine but the bathroom needed updating.
Further Comments: A comfortable hotel in a fine location. Public rooms and bar were nicely fitted out. Staff were friendly. Carparking good.

Good Points: Beautifully furnished room - especially balcony, for smokers like me. Are we always going to have all non-smoking rooms, as the law does not demand this?
Further Comments: The hotel was surprisingly luxurious and good value for money.

Further Comments: The hotel was excellent.However, there were discos in the hotel on both nights till midnight.On one night it was very loud.This is understandable near Christmas.However, our rom was directly above the disco and the staff should have told us when we arrived to telll us and to give us the opportunity of a choice of room.

Further Comments: this hotel is one of the best i have experienced either in this country or abroad from the staff to the overall condition of the hotel to the location (just enough of a walk into town to work off the delicious food)
