St Mellons Hotel near Cardiff: Cardiff Hotels

Good Points: Clean and comfortable.
Bad Points: Shower a little dodgy. Window blind in bathroom needs replacing.

Good Points: Beautiful setting. very spacious room. excellent breakfast.
Bad Points: mould at bottom of shower panel. bathroom in particular needs attention, decorating, re grouting.
Further Comments: Overall a pleasant stay, value for money. pity we didnt have time to use the leisure facilities but maybe next time. the only criticism is that the bathroom needs attention.

Good Points: Very little other than the rooms were large
Bad Points: Rooms in desperate need of refurb - heating had been turned off in a cold snap in May - the rooms were 100 yds from the main hotel in a delapidated block overlooking staff car park and dustbins etc.. It was bad weather so we got soaked every morning running to dining room
Further Comments: Food ordered on our first night - late sunday - pretty revolting - frozen fish - semi cooked chips - damp old salad and inedible pasta - not a good start - waited 35 mins for a bottle of wine in a dserted hotel - staff friendly but totally disorganised. Hotel is in beautiful grounds and was obviously a nice place 25 years ago.
