Good Points: Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfy bed, good value for money.
Bad Points: A little too far out of the centre, bedroom furniture a bit 'tired'. Could have done with a later breakfast time on sunday, currently 8am-9am all week.
Further Comments: Staff were friendly and helpfull. The property is a good 20min walk from the centre of town and probably about the same from the race course which is fine in good weather but could make a rainy stay very miserable. Don't bring your car to York!

Good Points: The Hotel was within 5 minutes walk of the shopping area of York city, was easy to find and had free roadside parking.
Further Comments: We stayed in Room 1 which was a good size, light and airy, with a very comfortable king size bed and excellent shower, my husband particularly liked the cookie jar that came with the tea & coffee. Breakfast was nicely cooked, plentiful and hot with good choices. The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good Points: Very near to City centre which enabled us to park the car and leave it for weekend.Clean room and breakfast room, friendly staff overall a very pleasent stay. Would reccomend it as it was quiet at night.
Bad Points: The room we had was on the top floor, with only a small window. We would have preferred a large window. Although it did not detract from us enjoying our stay.If we had ssked we probably could have moved , but we did not bother.
Further Comments: The accomadation was overall excellant for our stay as it was convieant to the city centre, also it had shops , pubs and an excellant Indian curry house just down the road.Very clean attentive staff, who looked after us, and was willing to give us information if needed.

Good Points: Clean room, comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast
Bad Points: Room advertised as king size, was on the small side with very little hanging space for clothes
Further Comments: We enjoyed our stay at the Ashley Guest House and found the owner most helpful and informative. We both felt the room was small and could do with some more hanging space. The shower room/toilet could do with a shelf to put your toiletries

Good Points: Everything.
Bad Points: The glade plug-in in the dining room, but that¬タルs a personal thing!
Further Comments: The hotel was very well located for the Racecourse, the centre of York and some fab restaurants. The hotel is small and friendly run by a young couple so they gave good recommendations on where to go and how to get there.

| Good Points: The accomodation was lovely and only a ten min walk from York centre.
The owners of the guest house were lovely and very helpful giving us advice on places to eat and visit, and also the flexability of being able to come and go as we please once booked in was great. |
Further Comments: Definately the walking distance from the centre of York was a plus side. we had a key to let ourselves in and out as we pleased, the accomodation was just right for our few days away with a T.V in room, tea and coffee making facilities and an on-suite shower/toilet. The people were very friendly and helpful in guiding us with where to eat, drink visit etc.
