Further Comments: A lovely country house hotel, tastefully decorated and set in beautiful surroundings. Service was good and the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful.

Good Points: Everything was just as it should be. Clean throughout. Excellent food. Staff attentive without being smothering
Further Comments: We selected this hotel primarily because its location at the edge of the moor. It is certainly ideal for access to Dartmoor. From first reception we found all the staff most friendly, courteous and helpful. Our bedroom was of ample size, and spotless. The food was always first class, and served on plates hot enough to make sure that it did not get cold prematurely. Throughout there were log fires (our visit was at the end of November) which gave the whole hotel a pleasantly cosy feel.

Further Comments: From the start I felt very at ease. The owner/manager showed personal interest at check-in and during my stay thereafter. There was genuine interest in my wellbeing as a guest. The staff was very attentive. The restaurant had a good choice of food.
