Good Points: Staff were brill
Bad Points: simplistic, and friendly
Further Comments: Accom needs a refurb, although i was told this is in the plans. As everything is quite dated. Value for money was very good as i was on a budget. Also serve evening meals which was very handy.

Good Points: Was cheap, friendly staff (although I only dealt with one member of staff)
Bad Points: Was kind of noisy
Further Comments: Bearing in mind that the cost of staying in the hotel was very cheap, the room was suitable. Breakfast was included in the price, and overall, the stay was of good value.

Good Points: Close to venue of private function. (Temporary)receptionist, pleasant and polite.

Further Comments: Room was down steep narrow stairs, stair carpet filthy. No towels in room. After unpacking, we found stubbed out cigarettes in top drawer of bedside table leading us to question cleaning standards, hence we did not risk using shower. Bed very uncomfortable....cheap bed bases and even cheaper mattresses.A poor night's sleep exacerbated by noisy occupiers of adjacent room. Hotel described as budget... we would substitute tacky, cheap and grubby. We use budget hotels often are are therefore well versed in acceptable standards.

Good Points: convenient location, good facilities, great price
Bad Points: The sound proofing between rooms was appauling and adjacent guests were up until 5am in the morning - they were not overly loud, it was the poor room soundproofing that denied us virtually any sleep.
Further Comments: Make sure you have a room that is not in the basement - they have very poor soundproofing and it is impossible not to hear neighbours.

Good Points: Lovely staff, extremly helpfull.
Bad Points: Hotel now incredibly tatty, needs new carpets and much attention.
Further Comments: An 'If only'sort of Hotel. Needs serious work on decor as clearly hasn't been touched in years. My room was tiny but functional. Staff friendliness made up for much though.

Good Points: Convenient location
Bad Points: Rooms rather small & had noisy neighbours
Further Comments: Manager was extremely friendly & it was nice to relax in the bar area. The rooms were quite small & I was kept awake by noisy neighbours. Breakfast was good.

Good Points: Friendly helpful staff, good value for money.
Bad Points: Stained carpet in very small room. Couldn't get shower to provide hot water.
Further Comments: Great hotel if you love cricket. Basic accomodation very good for short stay, but is very basic. Would not have wanted to stay longer in that room. Breakfast V good and staff attentive and helpful. Decor out of date and quite offputting. Friendliness of staff more than made up for it, though. Nice atmosphere in bar.

Good Points: The room was comfortable and clean
Further Comments: The Hotel was adequate for my visit, close to the town and only a 15 minute walk from the railway station, ideal for a visit to watch the Cricket or Rugby. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, a fine breakfast to set you up for the day. The Hotel contained an interesting collection of Cricketing Items.

Good Points: the breakfast was GORGEOUS!!
Bad Points: I didnt like the fact we had to share the shower with the whole floor but that was my own fault it did state it was cammunal.
Further Comments: Very good....friendly staff, excellent breakfast would stay again!

Good Points: the free sky channels
Bad Points: the carpet was dirty and the bin had not been emptied from the previous guest
Further Comments: i was stuck in traffic and had to leave my taxi and walk to the hotel because i did not know there was a rugby match going on which held up the traffic.

Bad Points: arriving back from function in the city @ midnight found that the room hadn't been serviced (sheets dirty, used tissue & cotton wool on floor. had to raise staff by phoning & offered another room
Further Comments: Very little in way of apology for state of room. Breakfast was buffet style with absolute no presence of staff (even to clear used pots, tables etc).the way the buffet was laid out would have been a field day for Health & Safety bodies. Boiling hot water urn in very dangerous position.

Good Points: the buffet breakfast was good
Bad Points: the lack of customer service by the staff. Also having to pay before seeing the rooms. No washbasin in room.
Further Comments: The stay was cheap but the general feel was that of living on past glories and not up to today's expected standards of a 3 diamond hotel. the reception was poor and even non existent. I would have liked to know that the rooms in basement did not have washbasins, this I have never encountered in any other b and b's.

Good Points: The value for money.
Bad Points: The shower was not very powerful (a minor gripe)
Further Comments: Excellent value. I expected it to be a bit 'rough around the edges', but it was not. It was basic, but clean and tidy. I was actually pleasantly surprised. Plan to book to stay there when next in the area.

Good Points: We had an evening meal, drinks and breakfast. The evening meal was good value for money and breakfast was excellent.
Bad Points: Although we had a four poster bed which was very comfortable I felt the room was not quite big enough to accommodate the size of the bed
Further Comments: Overall very good, a full size bathroom en-suite, quiet location and helful friendly staff

Good Points: very clean and a good scelection of TV chanles good food both breakfast and dinner (good value )
Bad Points: i was give a top floor room and i am disable so caused a few problems but i would stay there again
Further Comments: a very nice bed and breakfast hotel nice clean very nice staff in a good location near to town but just a short distance from the cunrtyside
