Marlborough House Hotel - B&B near Oxford: Oxford Hotels

Good Points: The friendliness and attitude of the staff - extremely helpful and willing to accommodate specific requests. The location of the hotel - very convenient access to highways and also close to Oxford Centre. The kitchen facilities are extremely handy (e.g. to keep some drinks or foodstuffs)
Bad Points: The breakfast could have been better and the fact that it is served in the room is not ideal.
Further Comments: Our stay was very pleasant. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. As it is a smaller hotel it also had the personal touch of staff knowing theri guests and gowing out of their way to make the stay comfortable and attend to all of our requests (be it for extra pillow or for information). I also really like the fact that there is a fridge, microwave, kettle and cutlery in the room. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Good Points: Proximately to Oxford - said 1.5 KM on website - in fact it is 2.5km Had a good sized familiy room. Although we didn't use it the kitchenette is a good feature.
Bad Points: No dining rom and no hot water for the second person to have a bath or a shower. It didn't have the feel of a 4 star hotel it is really a good quality B & B
Further Comments: The staff were friendly and helpful re resturants/ getting to Oxford and parking our car. The room was a good size. The TV was small and had some digital channels not really SKY based channels. The walls are very thin - we could hear a lot of noise from a crying toddler/ small child in the evening and early morning. The breakfast was good but it is not clear from the website it is served in your room and there is no dining room area. The fact that there was no hot water for the second person to have a bath or shower and it was reported to a member of staff but no one came to see us. An aplogy was offered on check out after I mentioned it again. We were offered an extra 30 minutes in the room - but we had packed to check out and there still would have been no hot water. We would not use it again but would say read this and the other reviews and decide what you want from the hotel

Good Points: Everything. The location, the comfort of the room and the great staff
Bad Points: The Toilet's floor had a lot of stains...
Further Comments: Great hotel, remarkable staff, excellent return on price/quality. There were very few imperfections but the charm of the room and the courtesy snacks are more than compensative.

Further Comments: Very positive.....one minor criticism, an egg with breakfast would have been good.

Bad Points: Some television channels didn't work. It is a guest house and not a hotel. No bar facilities.
Further Comments: This is a very clean guest house with attentive staff. It is expensive for the facilities available.

Bad Points: Terrible for business travel. No facilities- bar, gym, miles from town
Further Comments: If I was with my wife it would be excellent, but the absecnce of a bar and restaurant make it terrinle accomodation for the business travller

Bad Points: No bar, No Dining Room, Having to go outside to access the room, breakfast was bought to room and was awful. To describe it as an 'Hotel' is an exaggeration
