Bad Points: Accommodation was very tired and in need of refurbishment.
Further Comments: Room was small, old and had a 'make do' feel about it. Not worth the money when compared to a TravelLodge or Holiday Inn, for example.

Bad Points: very run down interior and not clean. A persistent smell of cigarette smoke was through out the corridor leading to the rooms and the room itself.
Further Comments: Extremely poor value. I would strongly reccomend the hotel to be inspected both for health and safety.

Good Points: Staff were friendly and pleasant and the room was clean.
Further Comments: The hotel was in a shabby area on a main road leading into the town; my room was overlooking this road and the windows were single glazed. Consequently, I spent the entire night listening to the driving rain, HGV's roaring by and the rattling of my window. I couldn't have heard the TV if I'd wanted to. The decor was straight out of the 70's with a toilet that flushed on the third go on a good day and a shower head that dribbled water onto the wall and resisted any attempt to straighten it in order to actually do the job for which it was installed.

Further Comments: the owner went out of her way to relocate our room next to family who booked later. buffet breakfast was good, leave hungry and its your own fault! had evening meal at hoyel also, which was a good varied menu, (had vegetarian options)

Good Points: The friendliness.
Bad Points: Not much really, the only thing was the tv service was not very good.
Further Comments: The hotel was very clean, the breakfast & service excellent, evening meal great & very reasonably priced. It is centrally positioned for local amenities. The owners & staff are extremely helpful & friendly & I would definitely recommend this hotel & stay there again if I am in the area again.

Good Points: Clean
Bad Points: Furniture was a bit shappy (although bed was good)
Further Comments: For a 2 star hotel the staff were freindly and teh checkin and check ou were very efficient. The breakfast was also very good. The room was a nice size but the linge bar could have been a little bigger and not entirely taken up by parties

Good Points: Extremely Friendly and very accomodating to childs needs! Nothing was a problem and requests fulfilled.
Further Comments: The hotel offered a friendly welcoming service answering any questions we had. Staff were all approachable and attended to any requests we made. The breakfast food was excellent and filling. A higly pleasurable stay.

Good Points: everything was there at hand and we were there for a surprise party we came down with others and the hotel was happy to help in letting others get changed there although they never had a room.
Further Comments: very clean helpful staff great breakfest would go again.

Good Points: Fairley central to where we wanted to be and close to amenities.Hotel staff friendly. Breakfast quite good.
Bad Points: Did not 'dislike' anything in particular. We were given breakfast times only, no other information about any other facilities that may have been available? ie dinner, bar etc.
Further Comments: Generally the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly. We probably would have preferred somewhere that had a focal point that people sat and chatted ie the bar facility. It seems that the hotel is used to host nights for societies etc as there was one advertised for later in the month. Overall it was'nt a bad stay, but we would have preferred somewhere a little more sociable in the evenings.

Good Points: The room was clean. Full bathroom.
Bad Points: The bed was a twin. When the cleaning people came to tidy the room, they didn't knock first to see if I was still in there.
Further Comments: The hotel was a lovely old place and very charming on the inside. The single room was perfect for one person and although the bed was comfortable, I would've liked a bigger one. The cleaning people did a relatively good job as far as tidying up but I noticed they didn't clean the floors at all. The price was a bit steep for the quality of the room but my first impression was that the place was very clean and quaint. I would stay there again.

Good Points: I thought the staff was great, and the hotel clean and quiet. I thought the breakfast was very good.
Bad Points: The hallways smelled like smoke, covered with perfume. I would have preferred having a hair dryer in the room, rather than having to search for one. However, once I asked for a dryer, the staff was great.
Further Comments: The hotel is a bit further out of town than I realized, which was a downside, because we had to get to the Castle by car. Also, we are used to staying in high star hotels in various countries, so this was a bit of a downgrade in luxury. However, it provided the necessities, was comfortable and clean, and I thought the staff was wonderful. I recommend it.

Good Points: spacious, clean, warm, excellent breakfast.
Bad Points: very basic in light of the cost of the room
Further Comments: very friendly and helpful staff, higher class hotels could take lessons from the staff at this hotel. The accomodation was clean and spacious, although very basic considering the cost of the stay. I would stay here again.

Good Points: The accomodation was clean and the staff were excellent. Good sized room. Very friedly bar area.
Bad Points: There was a strange smell in the room - possibly residue of smoking
Further Comments: Fine. It served its purpose as an overnight stay prior to working in Wellingborough the next day. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were excellent. Good value for money.
