Good Points: Good location, easy access to Chester City Centre. Good breakfast, comfortable room.
Bad Points: Lack of personal service. Bedside lamps did not work. Notice in the room stating that if you didn't check out by a certain time, you would be charged at an hourly rate, regardless of whether you were 5 minutes or 1 hour late, and if you didn't have your breakfast at the stated time, you would forfeit your right to have it.
Further Comments: Overall it was a good stay, perfect for a stop over en route back home to London from North Wales. The room was comfortable, though it would have been nice to have working bedside lamps, and there was nobody around to report the problem. When we arrived, it took a while before someone came to let us in, the proprietor took my payment straight away, and there was a lack of personal service. However, when we went down for breakfast, the chef came out and asked us exactly what we wanted, and apologised for not having been there when we arrived. That said, there was no one around when we checked out at 10.00, and again I had to wait to hand in my keys. It would be nice to have someone on reception at a hotel as much as possible.
