Good Points: very nice surroundings. very friendly and helpful staff. very clean and welcoming
Bad Points: poor bed, limited range of tv channels, expensense of breakfast not reflected in standard of food , very, very, very expensive bar with no one in it.

Good Points: Close to town, but with adequate parking
Bad Points: dislike is too strong a word, but the reception was being re-decorated, that just meant that it `missed' creating the best possible impression.
Further Comments: Good hotel that I would use again when in the area.

Good Points: The room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel located near the town centre - the grounds were well kept and tranquil
Bad Points: Lack of air conditioning in our room, but I understand the hotel is being upgraded - alas the windows didn't open up wide enough to allow air to circulate. Bedding could be improved - sheets were clean but rough to the touch.
Further Comments: Albeit our stay was very pleasant and in the main the staff were helpful when asked for assistance. From a personal point of view, the booking on-line asked the question of smoking or non-smoking room preference which gave the impression there was a choice, however on arrival we were informed the hotel was totally non-smoking, something which may have swayed my choice of accommodation in Tunbridge Wells. I would also have liked to have seen more information on the local area in the room, eg: attractions, good restaurants, galleries, museums etc. We booked dinner on our first night in the hotel restaurant and whilst the staff tried to be as helpful as possible we felt that the fare on offer sounded exquisite but the end result was disappointing. Notwithstanding the former, we both thoroughly enjoyed a light lunch in the lounge on our arrival and found the waiter very attentive and as requested he delivered first class coffee - I highly recommend the wild mushroom on focaccia with orange pesto!

Further Comments: Reasonable value becasue of late booking rate. Many hotels of this vintage can appear jaded and past their sell by date. The Spa manages to avoid this + the food was of a good standard.

Good Points: Check in and check out procedure was quick and easy.
Bad Points: The cracked lino floor of our bathroom and the general tired and old-fashioned atmosphere of the hotel.
Further Comments: This hotel does not deserve a four star rating. It is old fashioned and needs refurbishment and up-dating. The lino floor of our bathroom was cracked and needs replacing and the inside of the empty wardrobe smelt. This is a tired hotel which has seen better days.
