Good Points: The room, the staff and service, the lounges, the dining room and brasserie and the beautiful building itself
Further Comments: I cannot fault this hotel. From the welcome and the tray of tea to the final booking out, everything was perfect. The actual building is lovely and our room delightful with windows front and back and a comfortable seating area and good bathroom. The bed was also really comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. We ate one evening outside in the new brasserie, which was excellent. A very nice touch is rugs to keep you warm on cold evenings. I also loved all the art throughout the hotel much of which is available to buy

Bad Points: The water pressure in the shower was not very strong.

Good Points: Staff very friendly, helpfull and not in your face. Relaxed atmosphere. Service and Breakfast exellent.
Bad Points: Shower was weak and room lighting dull.
Further Comments: Very good hotel in peaceful area. Service and staff exellent. Breakfast great but I didn't try the dinner as I ate out. It did have good reports from others.

Good Points: Clean, tidy very comfortable.
Further Comments: The hotel is in a great Dorset town set in the heart of the countryside. Only a short drive to all the beautiful villages nearby. The food was excellant. I would recommend this spot to anyone.

Good Points: The building, grounds and rooms were excellent; the staff were attentive without being overbearing, so the atmosphere was sophisticated, but relaxed.
Bad Points: Minor point; the taps were difficult to work with fingers that were anything other than totally dry and our room (the one with the four-poster bed) was very hot because it was directly above the kitchen. A fan was provided, but I can imagine that on a very hot day it could have been unbearable.
Further Comments: Food was excellent and not (as was expected) over-priced. It was actually above expectations; the only thing that I was personally disappointed about (and again this is very, very minor) was that after the journet I was not able to relax with a pint of draft beer! The bottled variety was fine, but not the same.

Good Points: Room furnished to a high standard and spacious.
Bad Points: Not very much.
Further Comments: A very well run hotel. Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Good ratio of staff to residents, all of whom were very friendly. Excellent food.

Further Comments: We had been to this hotel previously but some years ago. It has been extended and modernised but retains it's character. The food was excellent but the menu may become limited after several nights.
