Good Points: The staff was very pleasant and extremely helpful. The rooms where well kept, and clean.
Bad Points: It was a tad cold at night.
Further Comments: I was overall happy with my stay at the Dene hotel. It is situated in a nice quiet part of the city just a short 10 minute walk away from the centre of Newcastle. I would strongly recommend it.

Further Comments: The main advantage of this hotel is the helpfulness of the staff. It is not an expensive hotel, and should be booked with the knowledge that generally you get what you pay for in life. The accomodation was not plush, and some things (non-essentials such as the lift, TV remote control) were out of order. I was there for less than 9 hours and overall found it was adequate accomodation.

Further Comments: Hotel was of a reasonable standard and in the centre of the the student area of Newcastle, so if you stay in the hotel be prepared for some loud parties, we were awoken ar 5am by very loud music! The room was comfortable but im always dissapointed by the hairdryers that are attached to the wall - they really dont do a good job, take your own. The staff were Ok and helpfull.

Good Points: The staff were very friendly and helpful.The room was very quiet.
Bad Points: The main light in the room and the reading light over the bed were not working. However, I did not report this on my arrival because I arrived very late. Also, the bathroom floor was not as clean as I would have liked.
Further Comments: A friendly hotel situated in a quiet side-street but close to a main bus route into the centre of town.The staff helped with a request for directions and change for my bus fare. The single room I booked was comfortable, very quiet, and although small had everything needed, including tea and coffee making facilities.

Further Comments: We were attending our future daughter in laws graduation so it was an overnight stay. The hotel was fine for this purpose - we did not stay long enough to make a good judgement. The staff were very friendly and accommodating when we wanted directions to places etc. The room was very clean and comfortable but overlooking the road so even though it was off main Osborne Road it was still a little noisy - especially early morning. The stairs up to the room were very steep - there was a lift but I am claustrophobic and do not do lifts. I could not get hairdryer to work in the bathroom but apparently there is a trip switch under the mirror light. Overall very good value for money and would stay again.

Further Comments: In general the Dene was a comfortable, homely hotel, ideal for a short stay with easy access to local attractions. The room was clean and staff were friendly. Excellent breakfast. As someone travelling alone who wanted a reasonably priced, but comfortable stay, I would recommend it.

Good Points: Good location, near to the restaurants, nightlife of Jesmond and not too far from Metro/City centre.
Bad Points: Has only street parking and spaces are limited - but a quiet street so car was relatively safe.
Further Comments: Considering the price paid this hotel provided a good standard of accomodation, was clean, food good and staff were pleasant.

Bad Points: The smell of stale fat on entry. The state of rubbish bins and passage from car park.
Further Comments: It was basic accommodation and was acceptable for a short stay. The decor was poor but everything was clean in the room. It is in a fairly quiet area so we had a good nights sleep!

Good Points: Had room at the back which was very quiet, nice and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly and good transport links into town. Although close by to busy bars and restaurants in Osborne Road the hotel was very quiet.Lovely breakfast as well!
