Good Points: Staff were very friendly.
Bad Points: Standard was very poor.
Further Comments: Sink was blocked. Hairdryer didn't work. Wooden planks were under the mattress! Bathroom smelt horrible and shower leaked and dripped continually. Radio volume control was missing so couldn't be used.

Good Points: Very nice Hotel with a friendly owner and staff, and a good sized bedroom
Bad Points: A little noisy in Room no 4 which was above the restaurant
Further Comments: A very convenient Hotel for guests without cars as it is 5 minutes walk fromn the Metro station, which is on a direct line from the main line rail station. There is a grocery shop two doors away and a restaurant on the premises and next door

Good Points: Room generally clean and well kept
Bad Points: No satelite TV in rooms
Further Comments: This is my first visit to Newcastle. The staff in the hotel were quite friendly, kind and ready to help with information on finding my way arround town. Hope to stay there again on my next visit.

Good Points: Good Location
Bad Points: Poor decorative order, very poor breakfast
Further Comments: Although the room was very small and not in the best order, it was warm and had all the basic requirements. The food at breakfast was very poor, over cooked and prepaired in advance. It would have been nice to have been offered a menu or at least a choice. The staff were friendly and polite and did note my concerns on departure.

Further Comments: As solo female felt safe. Good shower. Small but comfortable room. Quiet end of Osbourne Road. 12 min brisk walk (with luggage) to either metro station.

Good Points: The staff were really friendly and helpful. For the money we paid the room was great value - large, clean and reasonably modern
Bad Points: There was a bit of paint peeling in the bathroom but that was the only bad point and not really a problem.
Further Comments: This is a great value hotel for the lower budget. I was in a room for four which was large, clean and well equipt. The only downside was a bit of paint peeling in the bathroom which was no problem. I didn't hear any noisy neighbours which I expected as this is a typical place for stag and hens. The staff were exceptionally frindyly and helpful. It's a great location, a few bars in jesmond itself or a cheap taxi fair into town (under a fiver). All in all I would really recommend it whether you're on a stag do, or wanting a cheap city break.

Good Points: The accomadation was clean and fresh and all reqirements for the stay were in the room and they worked
Bad Points: there was nothing I could say about the accomadation that I disliked
Further Comments: The only problem I found was the off road parking. If the hotel parking was taken by staff cars finding a space on the road was difficult and could prove expensive if over stay the limit

Good Points: near the city centre and the universities. very handy for bus and metro links, the bus stops right at the door.
Further Comments: The hotel is very convenient for both universities, shopping and sightseeing. Good substantial breakfast. Jesmond metro station is 10 min walk, and has excellent links to the airport, city centre and the coast. For ᅡᆪ5 per person, we bought a DAY ROVER ticket which we used to visit Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, and on the ferry across the river. This also got us back to the airport via the metro. Excellent value.

Good Points: Friendliness of staff, proximity to venue, amenities nearby.
Bad Points: Very limited car parking (only 3 spaces), worn and shabby soft furnishings and broken equipment in bedroom.
Further Comments: The staff were very welcoming and attentive and unfortunately although very clean, the bedrooms looked tired and shabby with worn curtains and upholstery. The reception area and bar/lounge area were combined, not separated and were not conducive to having a quiet drink/chat due to the large screen TV which dominated this area. The overall presentation of the hotel was not up to the standard anticipated from the online information.

Good Points: The room was decorated with ok taste, and the room was clean enought, it was of walking distance to the centre of newcastle or a ten min drive in a taxi, the breakfast was ok two!!
Bad Points: The kettle was mucky, so I didn't use that & I cut myself in the sink coz there was a chip in it!!
Further Comments: The planning of this short break was made easy by Active Hotels, The location of this hotel was very good it was near a shop, and there were also bars and restraunts close by!! The room was fair for the price!! but they need to clean the kettle in room 31 and fix the sink!! apart from that it was ok!!
