Good Points: It was clean , tidy close to all amenities it was value for money.
Bad Points: The heating coould have come on a little earlier in the day, if you wer back in your room late afternoon , it was a bit chilly.

Good Points: Proximity to town. Clean & comfortable. Friendly proprietors.
Bad Points: Bit mean with the tea/coffee in the bedroom. Bedroom was a bit on the small side.
Further Comments: A clean comfortable room. Within easy walking distance of town.

Good Points: Our room, while not wildly tastefully decorated, was clean and comfortable and had a surprisingly well appointed ensuite shower room. An unexpected bonus was a good view of York Minster from the window.
Bad Points: Our room was at the top of the house in the attic. It was approached by an unbelievably steep and narrow staircase which would be virtually impassable by an overweight or mobility-restricted person. How this could be improved on I don't know but potential guests should at least be advised.
Further Comments: The guest house was adequate for our needs. Directions to get there were good (until the last instruction which erroneously tells you to turn right into the second opening, rather than the third, after the Grange hotel). The on-street parking is a real hassle, particularly if you arrive at midnight, as we did, and don't understand the permit system. Location is great and convenient to the centre of York. The room was fine but access to it was apalling and very off-putting. The breakfast was tasty.

Good Points: Clean, and modern room. Friendly welcome.
Bad Points: Plastic sachets on the breakfast table
Further Comments: It was nice and local to town, and the parking was good. However, our car was damaged whilst parked in this side street. We were able to climb the 51 steps to our bedroom, but it may have been helpful to some people to be informed of this before hand.

Further Comments: We had a super stay. It was easy to find and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again definitely.

Further Comments: Overall we were very comfortable and had a rlaxing stay. Very convenient to the city centre and attractions. Would certianly visit again.

Further Comments: The hotel staff could not be more helpful, the room was clean warm and well equipped. Booking in was simple, only one form. The additional 3% charge added for using a credit or debit card was a bit of a shock. Breakfast was disappointing; the ingredients seemed to have been cooked earlier and then reheated. Sausages burnt and strange scrambled eggs.

Further Comments: Room was small. Not enough storage space. Would have prefered a bath. T.V reception was awful.

Good Points: lovely looking classic victorian style house,with a mixture of old and new decoration.lovely view of york cathedral.
Further Comments: we were only there for 1 night and the hotel had everything we needed for our stay. Excellent room and great breakfast. situation was spot on for getting to where we wanted to go

Good Points: Close to the Minster and the main tourist attractions. Parking available free, which saved quite a lot in parking fees.
Further Comments: A good option for either an overnight or several days stay. Comfortable and clean accomodation. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Hotel is close to the Minster, about five minutes walk away. Free parking at the hotel or nearby is a bonus as parking in York is quite expensive.
