Good Points: It was centrally located, very clean and tidy, friendly and great breakfast.
Further Comments: Lots of information had been emailed to me prior my stay, there was nothing missed. On arrival the owner was on hand to offer information on activities/places in the area. Fantastic.

Good Points: Excellent location for all points of interest
Bad Points: no change of bedlinen nor towels during our stay. Bit crushed at breakfast time when the hotel was full
Further Comments: Very friendly staff, and a lovely room which was spacious. The hotel has an excellent location so we never needed to use our car at all during the four days. York has so much of interest to see, and also great shopping, an abundance of restaurants and never far to search for a loo when required. A wonderful place, well worth a visit and the hotel can be highly recommended.

Good Points: It was very clean and the house itself was well presented.
Bad Points: not enough towels, especially for showering.
Further Comments: Everything about the hotel appeared to be well displayed on the internet site and it wasn't a disappoint at all. It came up to my expectations. The staff were friendly and it was so near the town centre it was great. We would definately stay at the hotel again should we return to York.

Good Points: near york city centre
Bad Points: rooms too small for the price we paid
Further Comments: hotel very clean, breakfast ok,room not ready even though they knew what time we was arriving in the afternoon. room advertised as superior double room, but was a very small room no where to put your case, not worth the money we paid !! best thing about this hotel was the location.

Good Points: Although our room was rather small, breakfast the following morning made up for that - it was excellent.
Bad Points: As seniors, we found the bed a little uncomfortable. So next time there is a sale on, hopefully the owners will invest in a new bed.
Further Comments: For a one night stay, this hotel suited our purposes, but it would have been helpful if the parking information details that we printed out mentioned that the hotel actually supplied the parking permits.

Further Comments: York ist eine reizvolle Stadt. Das Hotel liegt in der Nￃﾤhe der Altstadt, nur gut 5 Minuten vom York Minster entfernt. Das Frￃﾼhstￃﾼck von 8.30 bis 9.15 Uhr(full English breakfast und Mￃﾼslis, Obst, Joghurt, Fruchtsￃﾤfte) ist reichhaltig und wird frisch zubereitet. Wir hￃﾤtten allerdings gerne etwas spￃﾤter (und lￃﾤnger) gefrￃﾼhstￃﾼckt. Hervorzuheben ist sonst noch die sehr ruhige Lage. Alle waren freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Good Points: The room, it was small but very clean
Bad Points: It was very warm at night, had to have the window open on both nights
Further Comments: Airden house is in a quiet location but within easy reach to the centre. The room was lovely and clean and the service provided at breakfast was excellent. All the staff were very helpful upon arrival and departure. My partner and I had a most enjoyable stay and this guesthouse is the ideal place if you just want to get away from it all and relax. Further Comments: Great location just a few minutes walk from the busy city centre. Laid back hotel, easy access, lovely breakfast, we would definately go back again.

Good Points: the dinning room was spacious, the food very good the staff very nice, the room was modern and fresh looking nice colour schemne, excellanf location
Bad Points: the room did not have enough furniture to put clothes away a chest of draws would have been good, and a coat hook, the landing floor was extremely creaky all hours of the night
Further Comments: All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking was good, really it was just the room advertised as a superior room could have been more functional for aweekend stay.

Good Points: The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Fantastic location, very short, flat walk into Historic Quarter of York.
Bad Points: Parking was very problematic.
Further Comments: I would recommend Airden House for those either arriving by public transport or not going on driving trips around the area. The parking is inadequate, although we given a free residents pass there are only four places so if you're not lucky you still have to pay extra pound a day - if you can get a ticket. We still ended up getting a parking fine just after 9am on Sunday morning(!) as we arrived back too late the previous evening to get a day permit and all four parking spots were taken so our pass was useless. While this is not Airden House's fault it did leave an unfortunate memory and I cannot help think that it might be possible to arrange for more overnight parking, eg in the school carpark across the road. So just be very careful if you drive to/park here. That aside it's a very nice, comfortable place with two beatiful cats, good breakfasts a friendly staff and atmosphere.

Further Comments: Room on the small side but adequate for our length of stay. Ideal location, quiet but close to Minster. On return to room at 11.30 p.m. shower had developed a leak in our absence. Ringing the bell for assistance elicited no response. We telephoned the hotel number which, eventually, did raise the owner who dealt efficiently with the problem by relocating us to another room.

Good Points: The pleasant staff and close proximity to all tourist attractions.
Bad Points: It could have used more shelf space, especially in the bathroom where there was none. The other thing was that the mattresses were quite uncomfortable.
Further Comments: A good nights sleep on a comfortable mattress would have helped a lot. Otherwise, our stay was enjoyable.

Further Comments: When we arrived (earlier than expected)- the greeting was warm and friendly- and we were given helpful advice for finding local attractions and good places to eat and drink. The room was clean and comfortable - and breakfast was good. It was ideally situated and therefore would be a good place to return to stay another time.
