Further Comments: Over all i was very happy with my stay at Holgate Bridge. It was comfortable, the staff were friendly. We reserved room via the internet which made checking in when we arrived that much easier. The breakfast which is included in the rooms cost was perfect and just enough to start the day on. I personaly would definitely use this B&b again if ever i do return to York.

Good Points: Central to Tourist attractions, so no car required.
Bad Points: Towels too small
Further Comments: Comfortable room, good location, easy directions. Good choice for breakfast ( healthy and unhealthy options available!) Clean and pleasant accommodation.

Further Comments: The Hotel was well sited for seeing round the town centre, due to local long term roadworks on the nearby railway bridge high level of road traffic during peak times which created a lot of noise, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice,Bed could do with a new mattress as springs were coming through and disturbed sleep pattern.Very freindly staff and proprietors who recommended excellent local restaraunts

Bad Points: Mattress in family room 1 was the most antique thing ever come across. so uncomfortable and noisy
Further Comments: Found hotel room to be cold and even though hotel hallway and breakfast room were warm. Staff were friendly. Alot of road traffic heard from room. not a relaxing or romantic place to stay and overpriced for quality of room

Good Points: The general location of the hotel was excellent, just five minutes walk into the centre. The breakfast was excellent
Bad Points: The room was too small. There was just enough room for the double bed. The radiator leaked, so the carpet was wet. The hotel was situated on a busy road, so although being cloase to the centre was very noisy.

Further Comments: We would like to have known that it was a bed and breakfast not a hotel which we thought it was. Unlikely to stay their again. We are always at york as our daughter lives their.

Good Points: Staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Close to a main bus route into York but only about a mile to walk in.
Bad Points: More expensive than other hotels we have stayed at.
Further Comments: This is a small friendly hotel, probably better described as a guest House or B&B. Spotlessly clean,.The beds are comfortable although our room was a little bit cramped. The ensuite looked brand new and the property was freshly decorated throughout. The creaking stairs added to the ambience of the building but you would never sneak out of that place. Because of the popularity of York we supposed that this was reflected in the slightly higher price. It was ok for a couple of days retail therapy before Christmas.Would recommend it for short breaks
