Good Points: The room size and bed size. The very old parts of the hotel. Friendly service. The garden and location. Nice pint of traditional beer. Nice evening meal in restaurant.
Bad Points: Too many televisions in the public bars. You could not avoid them.
Further Comments: Would definitely go again if stopping in Stratford. There were some parts of the hotel that were being refurbished that caused problems but I feel that I had good value for money and generally service and facilities were of a high quality. The rooms were cleaned efficiently, unobtrusively and to a high standard.

Good Points: The central location of the hotel was excellent - our room was in the older part of the hotel so it had alot of character. Parking in the hotel carpark was also a bonus.
Bad Points: I would view the cleaniness was quite good but there were cobwebs in easily reachable areas. The bathroom, decor and furnishing appears quite worn and dated.
Further Comments: We really liked the hotel overall and enjoyed our stay. The location was great. The only thing we would comment on was the overall appearance of the room. It was full of character and suited us well but we did feel it was let down by tired decor and even though the bathroom/bedding etc was clean the room looked as though it could do with a really good clean. If this had been a ᅡᆪ25 a night B & B we would have no complaint but the decor/cleanliness standards did not match the cost.

| Further Comments: The hotel rooms are scheduled for total refurbishment in early 2007. Until then, rooms appear dated and generally tired. Rooms in the old (16th C) part of the hotel do not all have a shower.
Public areas are in good order; the restaurant and bar are cosy. Food is good: varied and well presented. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Although good value for money, added costs such as breakfast and WiFi could add 20% to your stay.
I would definitely stay again after refurbishment. |

Good Points: The character and ambience of the room, with Tudor beams.
Bad Points: The lack of shower facilities.
Further Comments: Generally positive, nothing negative. Shower facilities would make a big difference. It would also help to conserve water!

Good Points: Location, car park
Bad Points: My room had not been refurbished.
Further Comments: I had booked 7 rooms for 14 friends.10 of the friends had the newly refurbished rooms and 4 of us had the old rooms. The friends who got the new rooms were impressed with the hotel. The 4 who didn't thought it was ok. I would recommend the hotel if they could ensure the refurbished rooms could be booked.

Good Points: The hotel was very nice and the bedding and towels were wonderfully clean (speaking as formerly worked in hotel management). The staff were friendly and quick at check in. There was nothing to the checkout process. Someone was present to answer the phone at the desk (big plus). The area is really nice and convenient for shopping, touristing, and evening entertainment.
Bad Points: Better heating units in the rooms. The rooms could use a once over by maintenance.
Further Comments: As an American, I am used to central heating. Using the heating unit in the room made it difficult to get warm enough for my preference. I was a bit concerned that I was placed close to the public room where a party was to be held from 9:00 to midnight. Thus, there was loud music for three hours and I was exhausted. In fairness, the hotel staff was willing to move me but I would have to compromise to a smaller bed and pack up all of my things to move. Thus, I decided to stay in the room I was in. This may have been avoided if the staff at the desk had simply told me that there was a private party this evening and asking; Will this be a concern for you being on the floor above this?

Good Points: General decor good.
Bad Points: In room 126: Generally fine some points which hopefully will be useful - mould around window, water slow to run away in bathroom, double bed rather narrow and sloping towards centre. No written indication in room to inform you that the TV should be consulted for information. As room-only guests, some info about breakfast cost would have been useful in the room. Providing only one spare pillow seemed a bit odd in a double room.
Further Comments: Overall, a pleasant and good-value stay.

Good Points: Location - very well placed for the RSC
Bad Points: The general approach to the reception lets down the hotel as it is quite shabby
Further Comments: The Falcon is portrayed as an ancient inn, which it is, but much of the hotel seems to be a 60's concrete extension at the back. This detracted from the experience for me as I had specifically searched for a character hotel
