Good Points: Rooms were very tidy and obviously furnished by people who knew what they were aiming for.
Bad Points: The only factor that was off-putting was checking in over a noisy pub bar - see comments below.
Further Comments: To be fair to any accommodation, one has to keep in mind how much you are paying and/or the star rating (or course). The Singleton is only two star, and on this basis we thought it was good value overall. The rooms are spacious, clean, furnished with IKEA stuff, generally OK, breakfast was more than acceptable. It turned out fine even for the elderly in-laws who were travelling with us. The only down side was when we turned up - it is associated with a normal type of pub, so I found myself walking into a noisy bar(band playing)and checking in over the bar. (I left the aformentioned in-laws on the street during this.) At this stage I was nervous. But once checked in, the noise was abated by several sets of doors, and the band stopped at 8PM anyway (but I cannot guarantee that a Friday night would be the same?). So this is the only problem with this place, the lack of a normal reception desk, and close association with a normal type of pub which hosts bands (which might not be a down-side depending on your point of view?).

Good Points: The staff were really friendly and helpful.Breakfast was lovely.
Bad Points: The room we were in was noisy from some sort of generator and we did not sleep much all night because of it, i suspect you would not hear it from other rooms though.
Further Comments: It is a resonabley priced hotel to stay in if you like pubs it has good live music. There are loads of places to eat as the town centre is on the doorstep and the beach is only a short walk away. The hotel itself dose good food and is entertaning in itself, so if you are looking for a night away without any bother of going out this place i would recomend.

Good Points: Good location as we travelled via Swansea - Cork ferries, so it was close by
Bad Points: A rather loud music surprise from 20.00 hrs till about 22.00 hrs
Further Comments: We were surprised that the accommodation was in fact a room above in a pub, so not really a Hotel

Good Points: Clean, bright.
Bad Points: Stayed in Room 106. TV noise through wall from adjoining room. When using water & flushing toilet, water system noisy. Potentially disturbing to others in hotel.
Further Comments: Reception staff very welcoming and accomodating. I was unable to take the full breakfast included in the price given an early morning (pre 07.00h.) start but it was no problem for the staff to happily provide me with well-filled baguettes to take on my departing journey in substitution.

Bad Points: isolation pour le bruit, non pas des concerts mais rue trￃﾨs buryantes avecles voitures. Prￃﾩvoir ventilateur pour pouvoir fermer les fenetres.
Further Comments: ambiance typique pour les amateurs d'authenticitￃﾩ, trￃﾨs bien placￃﾩ, demander une chambre derriￃﾨre pas sur la rue principale ou alors avec boules quiￃﾨs !

Bad Points: Directly over a very noisy pub.
Further Comments: I had no idea that the pub underneath the hotel was so loud until almost 1am. I couldn't even hear the tv over the live band directly underneath me. There is no air conditioning so I had to leave the windows open which made it worse. Hotel room is fine, bed was nice but they didn't vaccuum before I arrived, gross!

Good Points: Everything - it was very good value for money.
Bad Points: The only thing that in the room I was staying in, there was a large generator outside the room that could be noisy during the night.
Further Comments: For a hotel that is based in the centre of Swansea, I found The Singleton Hotel to be extremely good value for money, compared to the other hotels in the area. The staff were all very friendly and helped with any questions that I may have had. The room itself was very clean and had plenty of room. The bathroom was very big and kept very clean. The room came equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and a TV. The breakfast that is included with the price was excellent and the lady serving was very helpful. Contrary to other reports that I read before booking this hotel, I did not hear any noise from the pub downstairs and enjoyed a lovely stay. Overall I feel that this is a good place to stay and is excellent value for money. I would recommend it to anyone.

Good Points: Very comfortable orthopeadic mattress. a warm greeting clean up to date en-suite bedroom.a wonderfull english breakfast and evening meal
Bad Points: A hanging hook and shelf in the bath room please. no smoking area for eating.
Further Comments: No immediate free parking, no lift.I have a hip problem. None the less I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again the landlady was such a friendly person.

Good Points: CLEAN AND TIDY, PLENTY OF TOWELS, GOOD BREAKFAST.
Bad Points: IT WAS A BIT COLD AT NIGHT AS THE HEATING HAD GONE OFF!!! CHRIS THE NEW OWNER WILL ENSURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN IN FUTURE, SHE WAS FREEZING ALSO.
Further Comments: THERE IS NO PARKING OTHER THAN ON THE ROAD, THE PAY AND DISPLAY HAS A MAXIMUM STAY OF THREE HOURS, NOT VERY HANDY. THE NEW OWNER CHRIS HAS BIG PLANS TO IMPROVE THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE OF STAYING IN THE HOTEL, I WOULD CERTAINLY GO BACK IF ONLY TO SEE HOW SHE WAS GETTING ON. GOOD LUCK CHRIS. P.S. I GOT THE JOB SO I MAY BE BACK DOWN SOON.

Good Points: Very clean and friendly
Bad Points: The service was very slapdash, although this is probably becausr the hotel is being taken over in a week. Had to ring the outside doorbell to wake the manager to get breakfast which then took 3/4 hour to arrive. We had anticipated being on the road by 8.30am but were delayed by an hour.

Good Points: Everything spotless, chocolate bars in room were a bonus as I hadn't eaten since early morning
Bad Points: A Reception area and new Entrance would give a better first impression.
Further Comments: From the outside it looks like the Pub it used to be, but once inside the atmosphere is very welcoming, and the Manager obviously is working very hard to make a go of the business. We wish him every success.
