Bad Points: general lack of maintenance.
Further Comments: The requirement was for somewhere cheap to sleep after attending a concert at Hampden Park and before moving on the next day. The hostel suited this purpose - fine.

Bad Points: Kitchen smelled funky; so many stairs up to the room!
Further Comments: Kind of inconvenient in terms of walking to restaurants or attractions.

Good Points: Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfy bunk (slept like a log). Absolutely brilliant shower (plenty of hot water).
Bad Points: Catawauling from band practising in next building (I like heavy metal but they were bad!!). So not really the hostel's fault. Used ear plugs and had a brilliant night's sleep.
Further Comments: I thought my stay was excellent value for money. My first room had a leaky shower but the reception staff were really helpful in changing rooms and even came to check the new one was OK. The staff are one of your best assets!! The rooms were exactly what I was expecting. I get very annoyed at paying over the top for a whole load of stuff that you don't need in most hotels (all you basically need are a shower, a loo and a place to keel over into at night). This answered all my needs.
