Good Points: Nice clean room, plenty of hot water, good room service.
Bad Points: Bathroom door opened into the room, not the hallway.
Further Comments: The food in the hotel was great, if i'd known how good it was before the booking I would have arranged to eat in the hotel more.

Good Points: Comfortable, clean bed. Bathroom had everything you needed.
Bad Points: Staff were a little bit slow at breakfast. More choice on bar meals would have been nice.
Further Comments: There was a wedding on when we stayed, we were given a quiet room as requested which was appreciated. The bar staff at night were friendly and polite. The choice of bar meals was limited but our meal was good. Our room was clean and most things provided. Staff at breakfast were a bit untrained (chatting about social lives), and the breakfast could have been a bit hotter.

Good Points: Excellent, spacious and clean

Further Comments: I had a very pleasant stay, the staff were friendly and helpful.The accomodation was clean with plenty of room. It was very quiet at night and i wasnt disturbed by anyone. Just one moan, dont order the scrambled egg, extremely rubbery and over cooked

Good Points: a very spacious room, very clean and nothing was too much trouble from the staff.

Further Comments: This is the second time that we have stayed in the Roman Way Hotel. It was good value for money, very clean nothing was too much trouble for the staff even at half past two in the morning when we wanted a snack. The rooms were lovely, well laid out and clean, could of done with a few more towels but it was not a problem. Will definately go again.

Good Points: The room was a nice size, it was great to have the use of a bath and shower in the room too.
Bad Points: The extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom. We did tell the receptionist on the Saturday morning, but it wasn't repaired during our stay.
Further Comments: The hotel was very clean, the rooms were a good size. The breakfasts were very tasty! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We're that impressed that we're planning on going back in the Summer!

Good Points: night porters were very professinal
Bad Points: the bathroom.
Further Comments: Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. However they forgot to tell us about the card one has to carry to recieve drinks and food chargeable to theroom. bThis was quickly sorted. The room itself was very dated and the ensuite bathroom was horrible. A cheap plastic bath and cigarette burns on the sink. Also the bathroom seemed dirty. Overall the stay was fine.

Good Points: general appearance was clean and well kept and very welcoming the room was clean warm and cosy
Bad Points: not enough tea and coffee facilities and couldnt smoke in the room which we requested
Further Comments: the staff were friendly and efficient.the food was great and we will be reccomending it to our friends and family.We will definately stay there again if the oppertunity arises

Further Comments: The room was booked online well in advance (2 months at least). It was also confirmed by telephone a week beforehand. Upon arrival there was no sign of our reservation and luckily there was one room left available which we were offered. Once in the room all other issues discussed above were observed.

Bad Points: Fold down bed not ideal, general hint of disrepair, noise in corridors at night, wedding party fight in reception (know this is not really your fault)
Further Comments: The hotel has the feel of a place that is not overly loved, either by the staff or the people who stay there. Whilst nothing is massivly wrong it is not that good either. I travel extensively for my job and would not use this hotel as a business hotel. It served its purpose for my trip on this occassion, however I can't see myself choosing to use this chain again.

Good Points: Quiet, comfortable beds.
Bad Points: Bit pricey for what it was. No access to main restaurant due to wedding parties. Extractor in bathroom not working.
Further Comments: Food in Gilpins lacked imagination.
