Good Points: The hotel was situated in a rural area and had beautiful scenery around it. The hotel looked like a home and felt very welcoming.
Bad Points: The bathroom was a little small and the bath was very small. The bed was not very comfy, but hey! we were on hoilday so you make the most of. It would have been nice to have had a TV in one of the sitting rooms as the one in the bedroom was hardly watchable, but that could have been down to the heavy rain that went on that night.
Further Comments: We have already recommended this hotel to our friends who are going to book a weekend. We would have liked to know more about best places to eat as the hotel only had a buffet on as it was Sunday evening. We did manage to find a nice pub called the Pheasant where we had a very enjoyable meal.

Good Points: Nice country house hotel without being pretentious
Further Comments: good location for the southern and central lake district close to good roads. friendly relaxed atmosphere and staff.

Bad Points: Hot water system slight problem, Room 8 bathroom needs updating
Further Comments: Hotel was up to expectations for this price range, restaurant met expectations.B&B would be nice as we were visiting friends and maybe could have dined with them but Hotel arranged for our guest to dine with us which solved the problem
