Good Points: Nice facilities and location
Further Comments: I have rated working order of equipment as poor becuase boiler broke down on first night of our stay, however staff responded efficiently and offered complimentary bottle of wine to apologise so I felt it was dealt with well and appreciated the fast and considerate action. All else was good thanks

Good Points: The general decor in public rooms was quite attractive
Bad Points: The number of stairs to be climbed was rather challenging and the room was not very satisfactory in terms of its size and facilities.
Further Comments: I would have liked to have known before booking that we would be allocated a room at the top of the building and that the room in question would be less than spacious. The cost of the room was not reflected in the actual accommodation.

Further Comments: Der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war erholsam und angenehm. Das Hotel liegt sehr gut und ruhig. Es ist sehr sauber und ansprechend eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer sollte etwas grￃﾶsser sein, da man sehr wenig Bewegungsfreiraum hat.

Good Points: The room and the sea view
Bad Points: the amount of stairs being on the top floor
Further Comments: Overall the Hotel was smart, clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly, The only drawback was that our room was on the top floor and had we known this we would have probably asked for a room on a lower level, but on the plus side the room had a beautiful view from the window.

Bad Points: Would have prefered a bath to a shower but this is a minor matter.
Further Comments: Only minor complaint was that it took a while to find anyone on duty to book in with.Otherwise very good service and food.

Further Comments: This recently-refurbished hotel is warm and comfortable although the rooms are small. We didn't sample the evening meal but the breakfast was very good although a northern hotel, in our view, should always offer black pudding. Mushrooms, too would have been nice. Staff were friendly and efficient and the hotel is situated in a superior part of Scarborough, near the Spa 'tram' (cliff lift).

Good Points: The hotel was very clean and tidy with very friendly staff. The location was excellent with only a short walk to the town centre.
Bad Points: Only problem with the hotel was the very noisy plumbing, if anyone in the hotel ran a tap, had a shower or even went to the toilet the pipes in hotel seemed to omit a very loud screeching noise!
Further Comments: A very nice hotel which is in a fantastic location and has very nice views of Scarborough. The hotel itself was clean wih very helpful and friendly staff, however the only thing that lets it down is the noisy plumbing system. However I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good Points: very high standard of accommodation in extrememly pleasant surroundings
Bad Points: shower could have been better quality and view was at rear (of brick walls)
Further Comments: The hotel was all of very high quality. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms facilities were very good, everything you need was provided. The food was excellent and the evening meal was very reasonably priced. I would like to have had a room with a sea view and parking near the hotel was not guaranteed. All the staff were extememly helpful and friendly. The booking process was so easy, I would use the service again.

Good Points: Whilst obviously full of history, the Hotel had character and recent re-furbishment provided for clean, bright and tidy accommodation. The food was excellent and I can recommned the dinner menu for good wholesome traditional food.
Bad Points: We were on the top floor and the absence of a lift and the number of floors and stairs to climb should not be under-estimated by anyone who has difficult on stairways. The room was adequate in size, if the bathroom a little cramped.
Further Comments: The hotel is full of chartacter and the re-furbishment has left the rooms and accommodation clean, bright and tidy. Whilst the information provides that no lift available, it does not sufficiently identify the steepness and number of floors to climb. Whilst not a problem to us, I can foresee occasions where anyone who has any difficulty with stairways would have severe problems. Whilst no hesitation in recommendation of the hotel, anyone should make enquiries as to the position of their room.

Good Points: The room was lovely with excellent views over the bay. Decor and furnishing was elegant yet comfortable and cosy! The bed was so comfy and the option of 3 pillows was there!!Plenty of toiletries and drinks replenished daily. Extremely clean and fresh.
Bad Points: Would have liked a larger area for shower and toilet but with a 6'2 husband this is often the case!!!! We would have liked a more flexible arrangement for an evening meal but appreciated that this is not always a possibility in an establishment of this size.
Further Comments: The hotel was welcoming on our arrival . The drink was appreciated after our journey. The breakfast was excellent. A great choice of cereals ,drinks ,yoghurt and spreads. Watch out for the sizzling hot plates which kept breakfast warm to the last mouthful! I was aware of details of the hotel and facilities due to the information on the web site.The sitation of the hotel was good . The esplanade is attractive and out of the way of the hustle of a seaside town.A pleasant walk and tram ride enabled access to the different atmospheres of Scarborough.

Good Points: The room was clean and the facilities were good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good and the food was hot.
Bad Points: Our room looked on to the fire escape and it was unfortunately the meeting place for the local pigeons! who gathered at 5.00am.
Further Comments: We only booked the hotel the day before our stay so the choice of room was limited. As we only stayed 2 nights the room was OK. I would not have liked to have stayed longer than that in the room we were in. It was 2 floors above the kitchen and was very hot (although the weather was also hot as well)The window was wide open and so the bird noises as mentioned above were very noticeable.The lounge was very comfortable and well furnished and there were books and local information. The welcome drink was also a nice touch.

Good Points: Hotel was very clean and furniture was well chosen to match in with decor. Situated in an excellent location near to beach and shops, I had a sea view which was picture perfect!
Bad Points: Only thing I disliked was light outside of sea view bedroom, like to keep curtains open at night but couldn't due to light coming in, oh and fixed head shower is a bit of a pain for washing hair...apart from that though would definitely recommend this hotel.
Further Comments: Hotel is located in an excellent position close to both beach and shops. Decor of hotel was perfectly chosen to match the style of the building, all rooms were spotless and staff courteous and helpful. Sea view room was picture perfect! Definitely recommend this hotel for a visit!

Further Comments: We think as you will have all age groups, browsing your website, you should inform people if possible about the area ie: very hilly,also a mini Blackpool, but a very good shopping centre,also Not a very clean beach (looked like dirt in the sand)and too many dogs allowed on beach.

Good Points: Warm and professional greeting. Balanced service quiet,dignified and caring. A modern clean hotel well kept. Everything about it indicated a professional approach and keen interestb im making sure you enjoyed your stay. Almost like staying with family.
Bad Points: Nothing it was good value for money
Further Comments: we had carried out a fair maount of reserach into to wher we were going and we are experienced travellers so we are well aeware of valure for momey and what to expect from ceratin grades of accommodation. In this respect the hotel more than met our expectations. The dining area was excellent although a little cramped at breakfast. The food was fresh well cooked and professionally served. The public rooms were well presented, new, clean and light and a good range of national papers. There was more than adequate tourist information and the staff were only to ready to offer advice in a quiet and friendly manner when requested. They were also genuinely interested in where you had been and what you saw, on your return. Car parking was also good, free, and easy to access
