| Good Points: The room was clean and warm. reception staff were superb. The Elizabethan room was nice and cosy to sit and have a chat. The position of the hotel in the centre of Romsey is excellent. |
| Bad Points: The price is a little high for the standard of hotel. You can hear guests in the next room. I always find breakfast dissapointing in this hotel. Two cups of coffee in the afternoon cost οΎ£4.00 which is extortanate for machine coffee. |
| Further Comments: The location is the main feature of the hotel, right in the market square of Romsey. It is a very old building and as such dont expect it to be like a modern hotel. |

| Good Points: The room was superb, clean, comfortable and everything I could want |
| Bad Points: Service at reception, very slow, even for getting hold of keys or pass out of hotel car park and I walked into the breakfast room, ate and left without any members of staff even noticing. |
| Further Comments: Overall place was excellent. I am very independant and the room was great. I would not recommend the place to anyone who would need extra information or help from the staff though, they might have to wait a very long time |

| Bad Points: Staff service could be improved - I nearly walked out of the hotel without paying because the receptionist thought I had paid, when I hadn't which I had to insist on! Communication wasn't clear. |

| Good Points: The bedroom was nicely set out and clean The hotel is very well situated in Romsey. |
| Bad Points: The bedroom was freezing cold when I arrived, after 3 complaints and 2 hours later, they did get their maintainance engineer to fix radiator - only took him 2 minutes. The breakfasts def need to inprove. The second morning I had the full english which consisted of 1 overcoked sausage , 1 piece of overcooked bacon, 1/2 piece of overcooked black pudding, 1 overcooked mushroom, 1/2 tomato - ok , spoonful of beans - ok and the most digusting scrambled egg I have ever set eyes on - let alone tasted! |
| Further Comments: As above |

| Good Points: the decor of the room/hotel |
| Bad Points: try making the heating work. try serving at least biscuits with tea/coffee after 6pm |
| Further Comments: Please make clear there is no lift.Concentrate more on quality control of the little things and this would be a really fine hotel. The staff are charming and helpful, the odd language lesson would help them improve. Recommendation? there's not much choice if you need to stay in Romsey, maybe this hotel could benefit from some competition for lodgings. |

| Good Points: Location |
| Bad Points: Large injection of capital. Planning application for part residential conversion indicates the problem. |
| Further Comments: Quiet room requested not initially provided. Replacement room smelt and leaking radiator saturated carpet. Third room had non-functioning extractor fan in bathroom. |

| Good Points: The room was a good size for a single. Generous selection of beverages and biscuits provided. The bathroom was large and very clean. |
| Further Comments: The hotel car park took a bit of finding, due to the town's one way system - however the directions given were adequate. The car park is close to the hotel entrance and away from the main street. I was travelling with an elderly relative and the hotel staff kindly gave her a room on the first rather than the second floor, as initially allocated. Bear in mind that anyone with mobility problems might have difficulty with the stairs and also the |

| Further Comments: The White Horse was well-located, clean, friendly staff, great restaurant, comfortable beds, TV in a well-kept old building... absolutely great... and the 59.50 rate cinched me staying there... i only would have wanted more photos showing the inside of the hotel before i booked... |

| Good Points: The room was attractive and quiet. Blankets instead of Duvet.
Breakfast was excellent. |
| Bad Points: Nothing in particular
Nothing in particular |
| Further Comments: The hotel is in an excellent position, with plenty of car parking.
The bar although open to the public was very attractive and comfortable with friendly service. As a woman on my own I would have no fear of using the bar.
Service was very good and friendly in all areas.
Entrance to hotel car park very small and easily missable. |

| Good Points: It was nice to stay in a period hotel |
| Bad Points: The water system is very old and slow.
The receptionist, when we arrived was more interested in sorting out float for the bar with the barmaid than booking us in. We must have stood waiting for 4 mins while she continued doing what she was doing. The breakfast was fresh but minimal. I expect a three star hotel breakfast to exceed that our normal 2 star we stay in. One mushroom, 1/2 a slice of black pudding etc etc. |
| Further Comments: I like to be looked after when I stay in a hotel. 1.Helpful welcoming people 2. Nice room and 3. Good food. This hotel only scored on the second of these three targets |

| Good Points: it was adequate for my needs,i hav eto say the room was very comfortable the en suite was a nice touch,i thought was very spacious and a bit of a surprise for a single !! |
| Bad Points: i never saw anything i thought you could improve on really |
| Further Comments: the hotel i cant really fault the staff were courteous and very helpful, not overlooking the fact that i had been at a wedding all day and it was late when i arrived,i was shown to my room by a memeber of staff he made sure i knew where everything was,in the morning the staff on the reception were again friendly courteous and extremely helpful, one thing you may want to consider is to have a facility for guests that want a bit of a late breakfast so they can have a bit of a lie in and then eat and not have to wait until lunchtime, there doesnt seem to be anywhere local except for the fast food kind of places open on a sunday, this is not a critisism merely and idea!! |

| Good Points: The breakfast and checking out. |
| Bad Points: The suite I was in on the second floor had no lock on the entrance, only to the bedroom, so I had to take the key with me for every trip to the bathroom, or I would not have been able to get back into the bedroom as the door slammed shut behind me every time. Also the hotel could provide at least a sandwich for hungry late arrivals. |
| Further Comments: Upon arrival it took 10 minutes for a Receptionist to appear, and as it was 9.10 pm I could get no food whatsoever, not even a sandwich. There was nothing in the way of service except in the bar where only a bag of crisps could be purchased along with a drink, although the attention at breakfast-time was very good. Also, I really think it would be better to have a lock on the first door/entrance to the suite rather than just the bedroom door. |

| Good Points: Spacious and comfortable, but due for some redecoration. However, owing to a booking mix up it was clearly all that was available and not intended to be used so soon. Credit to the hotel staff for making the room available regardless. |
| Further Comments: Very good food and beer. Car park hard to find if you don't know where to look. |
