Good Points: A refreshing change - the beds were so comfortable
Further Comments: The staff were so friendly and helpful, the beds were so comfortable and the breakfast choices were plentiful. The full English breakfast was really great.

Bad Points: Decor looks a bit tired, and there was very little room for a double bed.
Further Comments: The hotel itself was fine, but the other guests were particularly noisy and, being an old building, there's not soundproofing.

Good Points: The room was lovely and bright with a great view of the seafront and Solent. I was able to check in early as requested and the parking was easy, with a permit provided by reception.
Bad Points: The bathroom needed upgrading to match the standard of the room - it was a bit grubby around the edges and tiny.

Further Comments: Hotel was fairly welcoming, although having travelled all day and looking forward to just sitting in their restaurant and having a meal, we were extremely disappointed to find that the restaurant was out of action that night! Rooms were quite small but bright and clean.

Good Points: That they DID have smoking rooms available
Further Comments: The owners and staff of this hotel are extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome.It was as if we were staying with friends, such a change in today's busy society with all kinds of rules and regulations. A true home from home. If I visit Portsmouth again, we will have no hesitation in booking this hotel.

A true home from home. If I visit Portsmouth again, we will have no hesitation in booking this hotel.

Good Points: Comfortable. Very pleasant staff
Bad Points: There was a stain on the ceiling of my room where water had come through at some time. The cistern of the loo took ages to fill up.

Good Points: Service was good . Given that there was a large influx at the same time for breakfast Sat 28/9/07 the service was prompt and efficient
Bad Points: Toilet didn't flush very easily ... (minor point)

Good Points: The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I liked being able to make a cup of tea in my room. I loved the full English breakfast! The fresh grapefruit was a refreshing change from other juice-only B + Bs.
Bad Points: The stuffy / unaired smell of my room when first entering. The bed was rather too bouncy.
Further Comments: Overall, I enjoyed an excellent stay at the Seacrest hotel, where the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room more than adequate for my needs. The location of the hotel is unbeatable: opposite Southsea common, only a couple of minutes walk from the beach - perfect for a long after-dinner walk along the seafront. Next time, I'd like a room with a view.....
