Good Points: New rooms, nice decor. Good choice at buffet breakfast
Further Comments: Staff at check in seemed inexperienced and uninterested; between three of us, they managed to charge us different amounts, give different instructions about whether we could charge things to our room & whether we needed to pay a deposit. We had booked 3 rooms, but they weren't together despite booking them on the same booking this & we were told nothing could be done about that. Two of the rooms smelt of smoke and had clearly previously been smoking rooms. My colleague found a large toenail clipping on the sofa bed in her room which remained there for the whole stay despite the room being supposedly cleaned twice. The rooms, if clean, were pleasant enough, due to their 'newness'. We saw some stag parties checking in & there were some very noisy people in the corridors outside the rooms at times.

Good Points: The staff were welcoming and accomodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Brilliant breakfast.
Bad Points: Noise outside fron returning guests throughout the night.
Further Comments: The booking process was simple and quick. We found it difficult to find the carpark for the hotel. This could be made more specific in directions as it round the back in the middle of a one way system. The booking in process was straight forward. The rooms are clean and spacious and fairly sound proof. The breakfast was lovely and caters for most tastes. The staff were helpful with giving us extra tea, coffee, sheets and a duvet and the room was well made up on the 2nd day. The noise of screaming girls ouside the hotel throughout the night was annoying, but the room was too hot to shut the windows. The security staff on the door should hurry them into the bar, which is open until 5. The hotel does have the typical hen/stag party guests, but most are out all night .I'd certainly stay again.

Good Points: location, cleanliness
Bad Points: Big lack of atmosphere, everything was plastic and stainless steel. No car park!! Outside was a building site - everyone had to wear a hard hat!
Further Comments: Lack of car park a real problem. The nearest car park was five or ten minutes walk away through the centre of the city - not the safest area. Not ideal as a woman alone. As a woman on her own I could not have stayed here.

Good Points: City Centre location
Bad Points: The Hotel is currently surrounded by building sites. There is no car parking facilities - the closest is a 5 minute walk away and did not feel very secure.
Further Comments: The hotel is currently surrounded by building sites developing the area. Although this did not impeed my stay , this is something that I would have liked to know. The closest car parking facility is a healthy 5 minute walk and cost GBP8 to park there. It did not feel too secure although there were no issues.

Good Points: Clean, Comfy beds and good bathroom
Bad Points: With the sofa pulled down into a bed the room was very cramped
Further Comments: The hotel was great but the area around it is not complete especially the car park so there was a 5 - 10 minute walk to the nearest car park. As it snowed and the roads and pavements were slippy this caused a few problems as things were left in the car and I had to go and get them. The hotel was comfortable and the children enjoyed it and we felt secure.

Good Points: comfortable, brand new and convenient for the city centre
Bad Points: Maybe put more than one pillow on beds or leave spare pillows in rooms. Could provide complimentary biccies with tea/coffee facilities.
Further Comments: No parking available nearby. Had to park on a public car park 5 minutes walk from the hotel. This is a bright modern hotel convenient for local attractions and city centre (railway station is just down the road for those travelling by train). Would stay again - next time parking would be easier as there is a new car park being completed next to the hotel which is due to be ready some time in November 2005.

Good Points: It was clean, comfortable, bright and roomy. Good location for sightseeing. Perfect for my needs.
Bad Points: None
Further Comments: How near to the main busy, noisy road the hotel is, although this did not really spoil the stay as the rooms have air conditioning.

Good Points: The security
Bad Points: Breakfast Area 27th Oct. This morning I was dissappointed witht he service offered, first of all the grapefruit juice was not functioning correctly, then there were dirty ceral bowls (dishwasher problem) and finally the hotel ran out of semi-skimmed milk. As the hotel is new I think these are just teething problems. I will certainly stay with you again when the oppurtunity arises.

Good Points: Room was well apppointed and clean
Bad Points: There should be an iron/ironing board in each room and they should be able to provide a newspaper by the door in the morning. They should also be able to give you an alarm call if you need one.
Further Comments: Check in was not good and the satff were sullen. However the room was excellent and the facilities good. The breakfast was excellent also.

Good Points: The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly.
Bad Points: Parking should be provided for guests.
Further Comments: The hotel is very clean and modern and is within walking distance of the town. The hotel does not have any parking spaces available for guests, however there is a cheap long stay car park within walking distance. The only downside to my stay was the building work going on outside the hotel of which I had not been informed. I would recommend staying at this hotel but would not recommend drinking at the bar as it is very expensive.

Bad Points: The bar menu is very limited
Further Comments: I would have liked to have known their was no room service and no restaurant prior to booking. The rooms are clean and tidy but a bit clinical. There was also no bath which I wasn't aware of prior to booking. On the plus side the bed was really good and I had a great nights sleep.
