Good Points: Very nice breakfast. Very nice bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Very nice tea/coffee tray. Nice selection of local travel information. Liked the idea of the honour bar in lounge although did not use it. Host had good information on using local transportation for travel.

Good Points: Clean and very comfortable.
Bad Points: A bit farther from center of town than anticipated, bus in was good but could never get a bus back by the late in the day (8 pm)
Further Comments: We found the accommodation very nice and would plan to stay there again. Though we didn't manage a bus back at the end of the long days in town, the walk took about 20 minutes and with the pleasant weather was not a hardship.

Good Points: Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere, and the managers were easy to visit with.
Bad Points: Location was just a bit to far for walking to points of interest for tourists and it was hard to get onto the very busy street with a car.
Further Comments: We enjoyed the friendly and comfortable atmosphere and we will stay there again if we ever are fortunate enough to travel to England again. The managers went out of their way to offer us a great variety of breakfast items and everything was delicious.

Bad Points: felt the lounge area could have been made more use of if lights were left on at night it would be more welcoming for guests to meet one another

Good Points: Easy to find; exceptionally friendly and helpful host and hostess; general peacefulness of the establishment
Bad Points: The bed was too firm and unyielding; the duvet was too heavy for the night temperatures experienced.
Further Comments: Was satisfied overall and nothing in our experience made us wish we had gone elsewhere - rather the opposite! Would happily recommend it to others.

Further Comments: Ashbourne House is central for York centre. Facilities are good and the accommodation comfortable. This is the second time we have stayed here and we would probably stay again.

Good Points: Everything was lovely from check in till checking out,very clean , very nice owners,helpful and informative
Bad Points: slightly noisy neighbours,doors sprang back a bit hard - but not a problem
Further Comments: These people must love cleaning as this hotel is absolutly spotless!! great location 20 mins walk to town 5 mins on bus car parking no problem at all,overall a great choice with very nice hosts - recomended!

Good Points: Clean; beautifully decorated; convenient for bus route to/from city;fact that it is no-smoking throughout
Bad Points: Because the en-suite shower room was in the roof space, you had to be careful not to bang your head when standing upright in places; washbasin plug mechanism so poor that it was impossible to keep full without keeping taps on!
Further Comments: Very good; clean; good breakfast choices although would have preferred some ham in the cold meats and cheese selection; very friendly owners. Would certainly use again.

Further Comments: Have just enjoyed a pleasant and comfortable 2 night stay at the Ashbourne for a short family break. The hotel is very clean and well presented with friendly hosts. We had a double + twin bed family room and must admit the room looked a little on the small side when viewing the internet photos, but were pleasantly surprised it was brighter and larger upon arrival.The bathroom facilities were excellent. The breakfasts are excellent, with a couple of extra touches, which make all the difference. Would have liked some premium beers in the bar, but this is the only gripe.
