Good Points: overall very nice with very freindly and helpful staff.
Bad Points: i thought it was a bit expensive for 1 nights stay.
Further Comments: It would have been nice to know what was happening in the city for the purpose of our visit. But overall the accomodation was excellent and i will stay there again when visiting york in the future.

Good Points: Welcoming, friendly, great breakfast and most of all clean, fresh, and comfortable
Bad Points: cannot think of any dislike
Further Comments: Excellent traditional B&B, not a large, featureless hotel offering B&B. Friendly, relaxed, lovely breakfast and very comfortable accomodation. Lounge and small bar makes evenings in easy and pleasant. Reasonable distance to town centre - walkable but bus also available close by.

Further Comments: This hotel was chosen just from the listing. The property is beautifully clean and attractive inside. Breakfast arrangements were simple and effective using a tick list the evening before. Even asking for an item that was not on the breakfast list was positively responded to. Good family atmosphere from the owners rounded off an enjoyable stay.

Good Points: The accommodation was well decorated throughout to a high standard. The staff were friendly and informative.
Bad Points: Limited parking area
Further Comments: The hotel was well sited for a pleasant walk into York along the River Ouse. There was plenty of leaflets on local attractions. The hotel has a nice lounge and bar area. The breakfast was well cooked.

Further Comments: the hotel is very clean and well run.the bedrooms are all very clean with maid service everyday.they can not do enough for you to make your stay comfotable and enjoyable. we would definatly stay there again. well worth your money.

Further Comments: Asbourne House was a great experience - the rooms were of a high quality, the service first class and the breakfeast a great start to the day. Dont be misled by the 2 mile distance to York - you have got the choice of a 5 minute bus ride or a walk by the River we would both recommend Asdbourne House - Anthony & Sonja

Good Points: Proximity to York- a short walk.
Bad Points: Expensive for a single traveller
Further Comments: Well provisioned room which was warm and welcoming, albeit up several flights of stairs. Breakfast was the same as ordered the previous evening and was well cooked. Fresh coffee is a bonus in a B&B. The cost for a single traveller was a lot more than I usually pay, but that may have been because it was race week.

Good Points: REally nice breakfast. Very clean and well-run.
Bad Points: Over-priced, small room, very bad shower.
Further Comments: About a 20 minute walk to town. A nice, pretty place with clean rooms and lovely breakfasts. However, overall I think it was over-priced for what it was.

Good Points: The hosts were outstanding. The hotel is a small boutique or B&B type property, and it is an excellent value for the money.
Further Comments: We stayed here because the hotel had received other excellent reviews and it seemed like a good value for the money. It is a 20 minute walk to the city centre, but it's not a difficult walk, and the neighbourhood seems safe (you'll pass by the police station on the way to the city centre). We felt it was worth staying a bit away from the activity of the city, and the price probably reflected that it was not in the city centre itself. We were very pleased with our stay. The only downside is that the hotel is changing ownership soon (end of May 07). Hopefully the new owners will be as personable as the outgoing owners.

Good Points: Breakfast was good. Proprietor helpful. Good location.
Bad Points: Pokey room, car parking difficult, cluttered decor.
Further Comments: More of a B&B than a hotel. Our room was uncomfortably small. Breakfast was very good. The public areas are vastly cluttered with innumerable small pictures and plates. This is a shame as the overall decor is otherwise tasteful. Car parking is tight and you can easily be boxed-in.

Good Points: The owners were very pleasent and welcomed us into their hotel warmly. The food was excellent and the hotel was spotlessly clean.

Further Comments: When booking the hotel, we had all the information we needed to see what we was to expect. The hotel looked exactly like the picture and the rooms too. We found the hotel with no problem, and even received communiccation from the owners prior to our stay, which we thought was very nice.

Bad Points: Bathroom seperated from room, traffic congestion in area, limited parking available, distance from town center.
