Good Points: The Dinner was exellent. Great Chef on Monday evening.
Bad Points: Decor throughout rather tired. The shower head in our room was blocked. Rather like having a shower under a tap rather than a shower.
Further Comments: Surprisingly quiet even though there were several families with young children. Good position for touring the area. Shame about the tired decor but the friendly helpfulness of the staff made up for that.

Good Points: Staff extremely friendly and helpful
Bad Points: Needs updating, rooms faded and tatty in places. Reception area and bar really well presented the rooms let the place down. We were expecting more facilities for the children as its advertized as child welcoming !
Further Comments: Enjoyed our stay and no major faults were obvious but the rooms ,especially the family garden rooms need an overhaul as soon as possible

Good Points: the room was in a court yard setting so you didnt have to go through the hotel to get to your room, which meant you could come and go as you liked
Bad Points: therewas nothing that was wrong with the accommodatiom
Further Comments: the hotel was in a very quite location, but close to the village amenities and local roads. there were plenty of atractions within a short distance by car. the room was of a good size and very clean with a hospitality tray, trouser press and hairdryer. We would certainly use the hotel again and also use the active web site for locating hotels in other areas as we have done so before. overall a very pleasant stay.

Good Points: The view of the gardens was lovely and the room had a newly refurbished ensuite we just felt relaxed as soon as we walked through the door
Bad Points: The settee bed was a little uncomfortable
Further Comments: As soon as we walked through the reception door we felt at ease. We were early, before the official check in time due to a tight schedule but it didn't seem to be a problem and we were allowed to leave our overnight luggage in our room . The lounge and bar area looked so inviting but because of commitments we didn't get time to sample them. the breakfast the next morning was also a delight, cooked as requested with wonderful and prompt service, we'll certainly be returning for a longer stay.

Good Points: Very nice room, quiet pleasant location. Breakfast good.
Bad Points: Loud music from downstairs until 11.00pm, check-out a bit slow.
Further Comments: Very nice place to stay, handy for anything in Scarborough or around but only if you have your own transport. Don't expect an early night if your room is above the bar.

Good Points: Clean, with comfortable bed. Roomy
Bad Points: Comfier chairs for watching TV. Shower was very concentrated - not much spread
Further Comments: Generally very pleased. Staff, service, food and accommodation all very good. Shame that there were no Premier rooms with access for dogs on ground floor, but generally my wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.

Good Points: Private and fairly quiet
Bad Points: Bar area a bit small
Further Comments: The hotel was very nice, clean and warm. The evening meal was special for Valentine. I thought at first a bit pricey at οΎ£25 per head but the presentation and the food were excellent. Slightly dissapointed with the bed as I booked a double and found that it was in fact 2 large singles pushed together. This should be pointed out to clients before booking. Overall though it was good value.

Good Points: The hotel was in a nice, quiet area which is what we were looking for.
Further Comments: The East Ayton Lodge Hotel is situated in a village about 4 miles from Scarborough. The rooms were clean and had all the basic facilities. The hotel has its own bar and restaurant which is very conveniant. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a quiet break.

Good Points: The evening meal was excellent. Beautifully presented and of a high standard.
Bad Points: Standard of accomodation.
Further Comments: We booked a Superior room (no.28) which was actually of a very poor standard. The bathroom was in need of a complete overhaul - the shower was no more than a trickle, the bathroom suite was old (cracked wash basin) and the decorations were shabby. The heating was turned off during the night and before checkout the following morning, which in February resulted in a cold room. The chairs in the room were old and stained and the table was chipboard covered with a table cloth.

Good Points: Not much.
Bad Points: The superior room we stayed in was small and badly organised. The furniture was not arranged very well which made it difficult to watch TV and move around the room. The carpet was heavily stained and there was no fire alarm. Upon arrival we had to go back to reception to get ash trays as we were supposed to be in a smoking room and none were supplied. The bar meal we ate on the first evening was very average and some of it cold upon arrival. The carpeting in the restaurant looked very off-putting as the deterioration of it's condition was very noticeable. The external of the hotel looks tired. Generally we feel the place needs some attention in all areas.
Further Comments: Generally we feel the place needs some attention in all areas. We did not feel that we had experienced a stay in a superior room in a nice hotel.

Good Points: The hotel was quiet as it was February and good value for money. Very pleasant surroundings, plenty of trees, birds etc.
Bad Points: Decor was in need of updating in the corridors and bedroom
Further Comments: Although we asked for a quiet room, it was situated over the car park and one of the first rooms to be passed by all other quests. However, on this occasion the hotel was really quiet so we had no problems.

Good Points: Friendly staff, room clean and tidy. Bar meal very good and good value ,breakfast hot fresh and enjoyable.
Bad Points: The staff need to be more vigiliant about closing and locking room doors as we got a nasty suprise to find our room door had been left open all day after the room had been cleaned.
Further Comments: The hotel is a pleasent place to stay warm and friendly,we would recommend it as the location is ideal for seeing the local attractions.Or for just a very relaxing break.

Good Points: Relaxed atmosphere in quiet location.
Bad Points: Nothing really.
Further Comments: Check in was painless. We opted for room upgrade and were given a spacious room in the main hotel (there is an annexe) with four poster bed and a widescreen tv. During our stay, the meals were very nice and the staff very pleasant. Would stay again.

Good Points: quiet,large room
Bad Points: The quality of the bed was very poor.quality of the breakfast poor.
Further Comments: A nice building in a very nice setting.Easy to find and conveniant for Scarborough. The staff were friendly, but the bed was very poor quality and would have aggravated my back if I had had to stay another night. I only had prawn sandwitches but they were dry and unappetising and no care had been taking.Breakfast likewise was very poor. Once has to remmeber the price which was excellent.
