Park Plaza Cardiff near Cardiff: Cardiff Hotels

Further Comments: We would have preferred there be a seperate bar for hotel guests or a quiter bar: queueing to get drinks and not being able to find a seat in the bar area spoilt the evenings and it was very loud.

Good Points: I found the hotel to be very modern, sophisticated and welcoming. The rooms were well equiped and had everything that we needed.
Bad Points: The only negative point that I could think of would be the breakfast. I did not like the fact that the first thing that I saw when we sat down for breakfast was the filthy milk jug on our table which had clearly not been cleaned as there was a yellow layer flaking off into the milk! It put me off the rest of my breakfast. Also the hotel does not have any parking which then means an extra charge!
Further Comments: Generally my partner and I had a wonderful time. Although it was quite an ordeal to find the hotel following the directions on the website map. Also I would have preferred to have known that the restaurant was closing early that particular night as we were planning on eating there and therefore had to rush to find a nearby pub so that we could eat before seeing our show.

Good Points: Very comfortable large bed, good size room, power shower. Excellent swimming pool.
Bad Points: The toiletries in the room weren't very luxurious, no hair conditioner!
Further Comments: Double yellow lines outside the hotel so couldn't drop off the luggage before finding a parking space in the NCP multi storey car park opposite, which was difficult on a Saturday afternoon.

Good Points: Modern clean style which was welcoming and not too formal. High standard accommodation with excellent facilities
Bad Points: The room was cold on arrival and took well over 3 hrs to get to an acceptable temperature
Further Comments: This was a welcoming hotel with good facilities. Our only complaint was that the room was cold on arrival and took a long time to warm up. Restaurant was pleasant with good food and efficient staff.Very quiet and restful stay.

Good Points: The accommodation was excellent - we liked it very much.

Good Points: The bedroom was comfortable and quiet - bathroom very good.
Bad Points: There wasn't a view from the bedroom window.
Further Comments: The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and accommodating - they squeezed us in for an early dinner, although already fully booked. The lobby area with the gas fires was very inviting and a nice place to enjoy a coffee after dinner. The leisure facilities are fantastic, including a beautiful, large swimming pool; bedrooms are comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Good Points: Parc Plaza is a very modern hotel, with excellent staff and rooms, the bar has a great atmosphere.
Further Comments: This was my 4th stay at the Parc Plaza, and every time was excellent, we ate in the restaurant saturday night, and the food was amazing, the service was superb, the staff were very friendly and couteous. We had Sunday lunch also, which was just as good, we all didnt want to go home on the sunday.

Good Points: central location and i have stayed here before
Bad Points: i couldnt sleep.
Further Comments: I was staying at the hotel as i was running a race in cardiff the next day. Our room was on the first floor and there was possibly a function on? as music boomed on for a large part of the night. Leaving it virtually impossible to sleep. This affected my race performance the next day. I was not impressed. The last time I stayed here the hotel was having some building work done. Noise again, early morning this time. But I was so impressed by the leisure facilities that I would give the hotel a second chance. However, I will not be giving it a third one.
