Good Points: We did not get the twin-bedded bedroom that we had booked two months in advance
Bad Points: Once a single bed was put in the room (beside the large bed) there was hardly any room to swing a cat. The decoration of the room badly needs to be refreshed.
Further Comments: The continental breakfast that we had was poor. The coffe was bad and the pieces of toast dry and small.

Good Points: The hotel is being refurbished but the room was very clean and the restaurant was excellent

Good Points: Beautiful setting in a lovely village. Wellcoming open fire.
Bad Points: Hotel in a state of refurbishment but didn't really affect our stay.
Further Comments: Would happily stay there again when visiting that area.

Good Points: An old building in character with the old village
Bad Points: Currently under refurbishment but in fairness it has to be done sometime
Further Comments: The hotel is currently being refurbished by the new owners so areas are under maintenance. The hotels new Italian restauraunt is complete and if the rest of the refurbishment is to the same standard it will be excellent. The new owners are aiming for completion early 2008.

Good Points: peaceful setting, surrounded by beautiful countryside and historical village
Bad Points: furnishings were a little outdated and redecoration was taking place
Further Comments: we arrived at the hotel a considerable time later than planned. we were greeted in a pleasant manner by a member of staff that appeared to complete most tasks in the hotel. He was an assist to the hotel and we found him to be very helpful and quite witty. The hotel is small which gave it a more personal feeling. Quaint village with lovely historic building. Picture postcard setting. We intend to book this hotel next year as we are intending to visit the same local venue for a concert.

Good Points: Friendly welcome, traditional building in traditional area
Further Comments: Falkland attracts a lot of tourists - be prepared to have difficulty finding a parking place during the day. I knew the reception was closed until 5.00pm in the afternoons, but it would have helped to know the adjoining Italian restaurant (which I can highly recommend for an excellent evening meal) was part of the same business as on this occasion the hotel door proper was still locked when I arrived at 5.30pm.

Further Comments: Falkland attracts a lot of tourists - be prepared to have difficulty finding a parking place during the day. Bad Points: The hotel was 'tired' greatly needing decoration and modernisation - apart from the italian retaurant attached which appears to be the principal interest of the management rather than the accomodation side of the hotel
