Good Points: Sea views/Balcony/spacious bedroom
| Bad Points: no lift available - same menu for the 4 nights -more variation would have been good!
no parking space on some nights |
| Further Comments: We would like to have known the exact wherabouts of the hotel in Ventnor as we had to enquire from the Royal Hotel the exact route!! - it was really difficult to find in the dark!!
We really enjoyed our visit to the Isle of Wight and intend to revisit sometime in the future. |

Good Points: The view
Bad Points: Poor parking facilities, very poor evening meal, no complimentary tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, poor ambience.
Further Comments: Only has parking for about 7 cars. Even though the hotel was almost empty, once we had to park on the seafront quarter of a mile away and 200 feet below the hotel! The choice of eating outside the hotel is very poor so on the second night we travelled all the way to Shanklin for our evening meal. On the first night we ate in the hotel restaurant and I was served a luke warm, exceedingly gristly steak for about ᅡᆪ17. The hotel is totally unsuitable for anyone with any walking difficulties. Even going to the restaurant involved 3 flights of stairs. Walking to the sea-front involves a very steepdrop of approximately 200 feet. However, if you were to use your car you would lose your parking space! I was surprised to find there were no tea making facilities in the room. One good point - the waitress/ bar person was charming. The

Good Points: nice location
Bad Points: no tea/coffee making facilities considering the price very poor.poor parking
Further Comments: i would have liked to know that for ᅡᆪ8 more we could have booked a sea view with a private balcony rather than the shared balcony that we had. overall we would go back to this hotel as the location was excellant. for the price that we paid i think that it was very poor that there was no tea/coffee making facilities.

Good Points: The accommadation was clean, tidy and the views were fantastic.
Bad Points: Lack of car parking spaces and no tea/coffee making facilities.
Further Comments: The Hotel was well run and the staff were very friendly. The room was of a good standard and the views from the balcony were fantastic. The good weather certainly made our stay more enjoyable as we were able to spend lots of time enjoying the sea views. The only real negative point would have to be the car parking, although there is nothing that the Hotel can do about it as the streets are so narrow and full of double yellow lines.

Good Points: We loved that it was a beautifully decorated, a modern look on a Victorian building, even though the room was small, the overall affect of white linen, white walls and the smell of lilies wafting through the air, made it feel wonderfully airy and light. This is before you open the windows onto the balcony. The view was amazing, and to open the doors to that every morning, made the whole stay worthwhile.
Bad Points: Just that there were no coffee making facilities and limited parking.
Further Comments: If you want to get away from noise, bustle and the 9-5, then The Wellington at Ventnor takes you far away from it. The hotel is elegantly decorated, the staff are friendly, professional and not imposing. Our room was beautifully decorated, a modern look on a Victorian building, even though the room was small, the overall affect of white linen, white walls and the smell of lilies wafting through the air, made it feel wonderfully airy and light. This is before you open the windows onto the balcony. The view was amazing, and to open the doors to the sea every morning, made the whole stay worthwhile. Before your arrival you need to know there is very limited parking outside the hotel, but the staff are helpful in finding alternatives, there are also no coffee making facilities in the room. But if you are anything like my husband and myself, this won't detract from having a wonderful, restful time in beautiful surroundings. We would return tomorrow...

Good Points: staff helpful and most pleasant food good views good
Bad Points: Iwas lucky to have a reserved parking bay as my wife is in poor health otherwise it would be most awkward and would spoil the stay,it was overpriced for the standard of accomodation,no tea/coffee facilities in the room which was disapointing, also the balcony was not at all private a
Further Comments: PARKING!!! as mentioned the lack of parking is discretely avoided in the hotels blurb,at ᅡᆪ120 a night I would not have booked without a place to park, also the building is in a state of somewhat gracious decay, one of the following tick boxes asks if I would book on line, yes but only if I knew the hotel had adequate facilities.Overall we had an enjoyable stay and as mentioned the staff could not be faulted.
