Good Points: Accommodation comfortable. Staff were young and inexperienced but pleasant. Food was good quality and plentiful. Good value for money.
Bad Points: NO sign of experienced supervision. VERY disappointed on second night when, as residents we were denied a restaurant table for dinner although offered a table in bar.We had no alternative but to go out for dinner elsewhere. Smoking allowed in main entrance doorway which smelled and was littered with cigarette ends.

Further Comments: The stay at this hotel was part of my Partner's Surprise Birthday Present. The Hotel Staff helped set up the weekend - free upgrade and assisting with special instructions. From Check-in to Check-out the staff were extremely professional, courteous and helpful. The room was clean and presentable with all equipment working correctly. My special instructions were carried out perfectly. The food was excellently prepared and extremely tasty. Throughout the entire stay, we were made to feel as though we were the only people in the Hotel and I would certainly go back there again. The price, although on first site seems quite steep, the service received certainly made the amount paid well worth it. When booking this hotel, I only had their website to go on and that made me decide for this hotel instead of another bed and breakfast establishment. I was a bit doubtful about it being on the main trunk road through the area (A6) but accepting that fact, and all that fresh air helping us to sleep, it did not cause us a problem. All in all, if you are willing to accept a certain amount of traffic noise (A6) and that the Hotel incorporates a public bar and caters for private parties, this Hotel is well worth a second thought.

Further Comments: Excellent location. Only negative was parking the car when non residents were having a meal and ￃﾂￂﾣ3 for a cup of coffee in the bar. very good.

Bad Points: Vehicle noise early morning could be a problem if you have the window open. secondary glazing would reduce this generally. Look into the possibilities with a grade 2 listed building.

Good Points: The hotel had its own individual character and atmosphere in contrast to many more modern hotels. Good personal service and food.
Further Comments: We were not disappointed with our choice and would certainly use this hotel again.

Bad Points: Shower was rather weak and ineffectual; bit noisy in our room from event going on below
Further Comments: Check in / out was a bit confusing. The road was nearby but not intrusive. Car parking could be better organised, it seemed preference was given to staff rather than guests. Overall decor was uninspired while breakfast was minimalist but ok. I would have preferred to see butter etc put out in dishes rather in those micro sized packages that are so wasteful. Evening meal was very good and the staff excellent / helpful and friendly

Good Points: Good room and facilities
Bad Points: One point to bear in mind was there was an uncomfirtable level of noise caused by some machinery - possibly dish washer, tumble drier or a pump of some sort.It was not good late at night but could be easily sorted I suspect
Further Comments: The Hotel was well situated and easy enough to find I really had no complaints at all beyond the one mentioned above.
