| Good Points:
Well eqipped room on the quiet side of the hotel.Easy to get to and ample parking. We have stayed there several times before |
| Bad Points:
Nothing really. The bathroom ceiling and the window frame need repainting but the room was very clean. |
| Further Comments: We stayed 3 nights and had dinner on one evening(excellent).Staff seem to have been well trained. There was a wedding reception on one evening but we hardly noticed. |

| Good Points:
The food was good in the restaurant |
| Bad Points:
The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever stayed in. The reception desk was never manned. There was nowhere warm to smoke - everyone froze outside. The TV barely worked in the room - reception was awful. |

| Good Points:
The hotel was very easy to locate. The car park was excellent with plenty of room even when weddings were taking place. The room itself was large. |
| Bad Points:
The bathroom was dirty, with a dripping shower. Also the shower curtain was not long enough to go into the bath so the floor got soaked everytime you showered. The towels were like sandpaper. The curtains were hanging off the rail when we got into the room, and the woman at reception was extrememly unhelpful about this. The room was at the front of the hotel and so was noisy from the A31. In general the whole room seemed tired and could do with an update. |
| Further Comments: In general the hotel seemed nice, with large rooms and plenty of car parking, but there were many aspects that fell short of the standard that we expect. As above, the state of the room was rather tired and the bathroom in particular is over-due a revamp.
Our main disappointment though was the staff. All the staff (except for one very nice girl at breakfast on the Sunday) seemed to be thoroughly miserable. It appeared to be too much effort for them to do anything for us, even to check us into the hotel or bring us tea at breakfast. We were made to feel unwelcome and like a nuisance for asking for things as basic as some tartare sauce with our dinner. We have taken this matter up with the hotel itself, as the staff attitude really was not acceptable. |

| Good Points: Good sized room, restaurant attractive & service good |
| Bad Points: Lack of wi-fi (especially as I had a fault with my data card!), The black pelmet over bronze curtains showing a build up of dust was unattractive. Coffee (for breakfast & at dinner) was poor. Being woken up at 1am by someone who had driven their car onto the overflow carpark/picnic area adjacent to our room was not appreciated - but not the hotel's fault |
| Further Comments: St Leonards is a pleasant, fairly informal hotel. A little more active management would improve matters cosiderably. FOr example, instructions to phone reception to book a table in the restaurant are only useful if repection is staffed (it isn't except at peak times) or the call goes through to an alternative location (such as the bar). Deep cleaning & some refurbishment seem due. Nonetheless, I would recommend this hotel for its convenience & setting. |

| Good Points: Quiet, not fussy - restaurant ambiance & food service was very good |
| Bad Points: Room lighting was poor, the lack of wi-fi a pity |
| Further Comments: The check-in was rather slow because the receptionist had to deal with the telephone as well as arriving guests. The fact that the reception is not staffed reliably proved to be a small problem. Restaurant choice was a little short on vegetarian options & not especially interesting, but service was very good. Coffee at breakfast was not the best, but in general breakfast was quite acceptable - in keeping with the standard promised. Cost reasonable. |

| Good Points:
Friendly staff |
| Bad Points:
Uncomfortable cheap mattress, terrible reception on the television, too few lights in the room, badly maintained shower (water jetting out everywhere), mildew on the wall around the window |
| Further Comments: I was surprised at the number of good reviews and overall rating given by other travellers -the hotel was adequate and reasonably priced, with friendly staff, although the quality of the accomodation was average at best -not well maintained and quite dated. The food was also quite average -not reflecting like the good reviews given by many. The proximity of the hotel to the dual carriageway was really played down in the hotel description. |

| Good Points: very friendly staff, pleasant surroundings despite being on a main road, the most powerfull shower we have ever had...amazing!! |
| Bad Points: bathroom needs updating, wooden bath surround is getting rotten...probably because of the sheer power of the shower, sealant needs renewing. |
| Further Comments: Easy to find, pleasant staff, very nice eating area & outside courtyard, would be more than happy to stay again. A little dated but very clean and tidy, good size rooms. |

| Good Points: This was clean and comfortable. |
| Bad Points: The television reception was terrible. not that we watched it much. |
| Further Comments: A very enjoyable stay.
My only disappointment was the evening meal. My wife ordered beef, I ordered pork, mine was more expensive and she got much more on her plate than I did, I left still hungry. However it tasted excellent. |
