Good Points: It was very clean and the staff were great
Bad Points: the room wasn't en suite
Further Comments: Because I couldn't use a credit / debit card I had to pay with my own money and claim it back from the company, which can take ages! Would be better if a business credit card could be used.

Good Points: It was convenient for the centre of York, the Guest House had a high standard of cleanliness and the breakfast was excellent.
Bad Points: Having no on-suite, and the tv reception was only adequate.

Further Comments: I found the hotel to be very much like my own home. No access problems. Come and go as you please. Excellent service from the staff and the breakfasts were very very good. I would have no hesitation in staying there again and would certainly recomend it to friends.

Bad Points: A bit more expensive than other hotels and guest houses we've stayed at, but it was recommended for its comfort and proximity to town centre.

Good Points: The lady who served breakfast was very friendly. It was fairly handy for the town centre. The beds were comfortable.
Bad Points: Range of food offered at breakfast. The cooked breakfast was fine, but there was a limited range of cereals, and fruit or yoghurt was not on display but had to be specifically requested.
Further Comments: I have stayed at a lot of B&Bs and this was by far the most expensive, and with the most basic facilities. I can only assume that York is a very expensive place to stay.

Further Comments: Very central, short walk from city centre. Excellent accomodation. Very impressed with guest house and service received.

Further Comments: We felt the guest house was over priced for what it offered. Rooms were a little cramped. The welcome was friendly and staff helpful, but it was a concern that no staff stayed on the premises overnight.

Further Comments: The hotel is only a short walk away from the city centre so no need to use the car. The staff were welcoming and acccommodating and the place had a friendly, homely atmosphere.

Good Points: Cozy rooms in a superbly-renovated/maintained house.
Further Comments: When we arrived, the owner/operator greeted me by my first name as I walked through the door, and referred to my recent email message. In the necessary email exchange that follows an online booking, she had been a prompt and considerate correspondent. In person she is also a very cheery individual who clearly enjoys her work. Our earlier-than-usual breakfast and departure were planned and executed with ease. If you accept that an overnight in York during peak season is going to be expensive, then this place, five minutes' walk from the heart of the city, will be excellent value for you. I would certainly return.

Bad Points: Hot water in sink in room would be preferrable.
Further Comments: Generally a good standard of B@B, close to the city centre, staff accomodating, and a place I would use again when visiting York.

Good Points: Very clean, nice quiet location, but close to the city centre. Great Breakfast!
Bad Points: None, I can think of.
Further Comments: The owner kindly phoned me the day before we arrived to check that everything was Ok and she was able to answer any questions I had. (the only one was whether we needed towels or not!). On arrival we were shown to our room, given information about the main attractions in York, told about letting ourselves in and out the guest house and the time of breakfast. Everything we needed in fact! The only downside we found was that as everyone could come and go as they pleased, those who liked late nights up, tended to wake us up as they rolled in at 1am!
