Good Points: Peaceful traditional inn setting, Friendly and gracious staff.
Further Comments: As sometimes happens, my travel did not go according to plan and delayed my arrival to the inn far beyond what was expected. The inkeepers graciously awaited my arrival at great inconvenience to their own schedule. I would happily reccommend the Plough at Clifton Hampden.

Good Points: Beautiful surroundings, good food and friendly, helpful staff.
Further Comments: Very pleased that we booked this hotel for one night. I was with a group of colleagues from China and they throughly enjoyed the surroundings and enjoyed the food (not an easy thing to achieve with Chinese visitors to the UK). Our main aim was to stay somewhere traditional and attractive within easy reach of Oxford and the Plough provided this. We certainly could not have stayed anywhere so pleasant with the same budget if we had stayed in central Oxford.

Good Points: Wonderful, unpretentious staff make you feel at home straight away and no bizarre request is a hassle to them. Atmospheric and cosy pub, super breakfast and really chilled out. Amazingly peaceful and beautiful location considering its convenience for Oxford and the M40 etc.
Bad Points: Slightly shambolic room fittings but we understand that this is under review!
Further Comments: The weekend felt like a long holiday and we were free to come and go as we pleased. It was lovely to relax at the pub in the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and then only have to stagger upstairs! Most welcoming staff ever encountered. We will definitely return.

Good Points: Quaint, good pint of London Pride.
Bad Points: Grazing menu - not what solo diners are after really.
| Further Comments: Nice comfy bed, slept well- normally when I stay in hotels I tend to wake up at odd hours, not so at the Plough - nice and quiet!
I'm not so sure about the 'grazing' menu, might be an idea to have a few 'full' meals on the menu for the solo diner. |

Good Points: Large, airy room. Very well decorated and maintained. Very large bathroom.
Further Comments: An ideal hotel as a base to explore the surrounding area. Exactly as expected - traditional English country inn. Beautiful country village but with very easy access to many larger towns and cities. Lovely walks from village. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Restaurant menu ideal for someone like me who enjoys lots of different tastes. Known as a 'grazing menu 'where all portions of food were the size of a large starter. My husband and I would order 4 or 5 items between us! Would definitely recommend this accomodation.

Good Points: We were very pleased to have been given the room that was advertised on the website and it was as lovely as it looked in the picture.
Further Comments: We had decided to have a least one evening meal at the Plough Inn and was a little disappointed to find that the menu had been changed to a 'grazing' menu (a bit like Tapas) which in itself was really nice, but menus had been left in our room with the information pack and it had homecooked/pub meals shown so my partner was really looking forward to a hearty steak or the like and found it difficult to pick something from the menu given. Couldn't fault anything else at all though, breakfasts were delish and staff/owners friendly. Loved what they had done in The Den, very cosy. The rest of the pub was everything you'd want from a country pub.

Good Points: Extremely friendly staff and excellent all round accommodation and dining facilities. Made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
Further Comments: An idea of the cost of dining would have been useful.

Good Points: Had a lot of character, cosy, spacious and clean
Bad Points: There was nothing at all to dislike about the accommodation
Further Comments: Enjoyed the stay immensely, the inn had a lot of character and it was good to have a room away from the main inn which made it feel more individual and homely. Just a step away from the restaurant, the food was good and service quick.

Good Points: Loved the character of the hotel and the rooms!
Bad Points: There was no window to the room only a door which we obviously could not leave open during the night which made the room a little stuffy and also quite dark in the daytime.
Further Comments: Lovely weekend - thank you. Graham and his team did an excellent job of making us feel very much at home. he was a very welcoming host. We will certainly come back.

Good Points: They were expecting us for an evening meal, booked us in quickly and made us welcome.
Bad Points: Room was very cold, cold October night. Constantly asked if we needed anything by different staff. The ordering of breakfast was extremely disorganised with untrained staff, we were left at out table for 20 minutes before seeing the menu. To check out by 10 on a Saturday morning, made us rush.
Further Comments: Very pleasant location, food was excellent, staff were good and attentive, but lacked direction. All facilities in the room were of good working order, bathroom lovely, bed v hard!
