Good Points: everything,from walking through the doors we both felt at home.
Bad Points: maybe have a proper bar area , but on saying that we both were ready for bed as soon as we got in!
Further Comments: I think I would liked to of known it was near the railway line, on saying that it never disturbed our sleep.we really enjoyed our stay,the hotel was clean,well cared for;staff friendly, even to the point I left my mobile phone in the room,when i rang up to see if it was there,they checked it was then they sent it on to me, recorded delivery,recieving it tues morning.bed was really comfy,breakfast was good,tasty food,and plenty of it, you'd only to ask if you wanted more. overall clean, comfy, friendly good food what more could you want! thank you !

Good Points: It was always warm, clean and comfortable.
Further Comments: It was advertised, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of York. Everyone was friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good.

Good Points: Polite and friendly staff. Closeness to York City Centre. Quiet location. Plenty of hot water.
Bad Points: Instructions on how to book meals - Where is the bar and lounge? to be included on booking information
Further Comments: Exellent warm room, exellent bathroom - hot water, comfy bed, tea tray exellent. polite and helpful staff. Not far from the centre of York.

Good Points: Despite not starting serving breakfast until after 8am the staff were very conscious of my need to be at a 9am meeting in the City and I was served very quickly and got to my meeting well in time
Bad Points: Room was very narrow (7 feet) and would have been very tight for two people despite there being a double bed.
Further Comments: I selected this hotel because it had a high rating from previous guests. Whilst it was acceptable, it was not in my view outstanding.

Good Points: The hotel was very clean, the bathroom was immaculate and staff very friendly and helpful

Further Comments: The stay was very enjoyable for both my friend and myself. The bathroom was immaculate although the shower was not very powerful. The complementary soap etc were excellent and fresh towels each day. Although the hotel is situated opposite the train line, this was not a big problem. It was quite noisy during early evening in our room due to children above us but this was not the hotels fault.The breakfast was brilliant, nicely cooked and it was not necessary to ask for extra of anything because the staff asked us if there was anything else we wanted.Both of us were really pleased and would not hesitate to stay there again. It was only a few minutes walk from the town centre, as promised, and very handy for all amenities.

Good Points: Very friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable, warm room, freshly decorated.
Bad Points: Disadvantage of old converted terraced townhouse - very many creaking floorboards, noisy, if efficient, heating, cramped diningroom.
Further Comments: Hardworking, friendly and helpful staff helped make our stay most enjoyable. Hedley House should be viewed as a B & B establishment only. As such, it offers very good value for its grade and appointments. Being only a ten minute stroll into York centre it is most convenient for the huge choice of restaurants there.

Further Comments: The web site portrayed the hotel very well with ample information. The staff was far more helpful than anyone could hope to expect, even providing a private dinner. When we again visit York, we will certainly book the Hedley House.

Bad Points: Checking in area felt rather basic and cramped, did not give the best impression of what was to come.
Further Comments: Very convenient for the city centre. Quiet location -easy to find.

Bad Points: Breakfast was too rushed, We just got our cereal when the full english breakfast was delivered!
Further Comments: The hotel is opposite the railway line (just across a small road) although the noise from the trains didnt really disturb us. The hotel was advertised as having a lounge bar no such facility exsisted. At breakfast you need to eat really quickly,plates are whipped away, breakfast was nicely cooked but not enough food, 1 sausage 1 slice bacon etc. Staff were in a hurry but seemed friendly.

Good Points: The hotel is situated near to York city centre and therefore everything is within easy walking distance.
Bad Points: As the hotel was extremely busy the car park was packed. Some difficulty in getting out on Sunday morning but not really much of a problem.
Further Comments: I think more detail about the location being very near the City centre would be welcome. We were pleasantly surprised how close the hotel is to the Minster etc.

Further Comments: We had a great weekend the staff were very friendly it was like home from home. The room was very clean the bathroom and shower excellent. We would recommend this hotel to any one thinking of visiting York.

Good Points: The staff were so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way and the welcome was excellent.
Further Comments: The information was accurate and there was so much information at the hotel about the local area. It would have been nice to have more information about the city before our stay but regards the hotel, everything was fantastic.

Bad Points: Could of been better if the Hotel had a permanant bar to relax in
Further Comments: Ideal for those wishing to be bassed close to the city center, quiet and frendly.

Good Points: The room was Brilliant with everything you would expect.
Further Comments: It wasnt far from the train station and the walk to the City centre was a good walk but easily done.This hotel is really impressive and shouldnt be a 2 star hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming.Plenty of information supplied if your a first time visitor to York and made my time in york extra special.the spa in the garden was amazing but the weather was too cold for me to enjoy it.Hotel is ideal for families and young and old members and im looking forward to my second stay.
