Good Points: The hotel was old-fashioned and had character
Bad Points: The room was rather shabby
Further Comments: This is a good, reasonably priced hotel in an area where good, reasonably priced hotels are hard to find. Staying there reminded me of a hotel stay of 20 years ago. The TV only had the terrestrial channels and when I tried to phone out, I got the engaged signal. But that wasn't a problem to me - I liked it. Good value for money.

Good Points: All areas of the hotel we saw were clean and the bathroom was spacious. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty, as was the bar meal.
Bad Points: It's bit a trek to room 9 and bed was smaller than expected and sqeaked.
Further Comments: The staff were pleasant and attentive, the meals (breakfast and bar snack) were tasty and plentiful. The hotel was clean and has obviously been updated recently. There are two sets of stairs up to some of the rooms and although room 9 is adequate in size a bigger double bed would have been appreciated, the bathroom however is spacious and looks new.

Good Points: Room was large, clean and had excellent view over the gardens. Bathroom was also clean and shower was good.
Further Comments: We were very disappointed that the restaurant was shut due to the lack of guests staying. It would have been helpful for us to be contacted in advance to let us know of this, particularly since we had already checked the opening times of the restaurant earlier in the week. However, the restaurant did open for breakfast, which was well cooked. This did rather detract from what would otherwise have been a really nice stay. The staff were also extremely helpful.

Further Comments: The staff were efficient without any personal interaction which perhaps could have been better. However, the hotel had a family run feel.

Good Points: The location and garden was beautiful. We found the hotel to be very cosy and relaxing. Breakfast was very good. Staff were excellent.
Bad Points: The push button on the toilet was difficult.
Further Comments: We had a very pleasant stay.

Good Points: Peaceful and roomy accomodation. Comfortable and well euipped.
Bad Points: There was a general lack of attention to detail, the staff while pleasant could have been more helpful.
Further Comments: The menu for breakfast lacked the opportunity to promote well presented and prepared meals and the traditional breakfast, English and Continental, was not a true option. The ham for the latter breakfast was left on an uncovered plate and despite comments from us about the flies present, inevitable at this time of the year with doors and windows open, as they should be, my partner covered the meat herself. In general the hotel was a pleasant and rewarding experience and I would return.

Good Points: Excellent - clean, spacious, bathroom newly refurbished.
Bad Points: kettle and tea making facilities positioned away from any socket to plug kettle in!
Further Comments: All excellent - accommodation clean, food good etc. Only complaint would be that despite an advertised 11 am checkout, the cleaner was knocking the door at 10.40 telling us that she needed to clean the room!

Good Points: Clean and fresh.
Further Comments: The staff are always very helpful and pleasant. I would normally rate this hotel higher however, I was very disappointed this time with the time it took to serve the food and the quality of the food in the restaurant. Minestrone soup had very tiny raw salad vegetables in it and a side dish of salad costing ￂﾣ2.50 consisted only of some lettuce leaves.

Good Points: Used to like the fact that in all my stays I've always had a double bed till last 2 stays.
Bad Points: Single room is small, as regular I expect priority? Have promoted the hotel to colleagues and they have a better room altho we were staying on the same night! not sure if I should move to a different hotel and come back so I can receive the same?
Further Comments: Like the place, like the staff. Would be great if you could change your bar menue-It's dull and as a regular (ok only once or twice a month) I'd like to have a change! Shame I have such a good experience of the rooms and told colleagues you don't have single rooms to be faced with landing one! (Perhaps unfair cos paying for a single!) Question below, will I book again, yes but will probably look round now.

Good Points: Pleasant & clean if a little dated, but good bathrooms. Staff are friendly and the food is good.
Further Comments: Situated in the country with good views & grounds. I liked the hotel and will go there again for short stays.

Good Points: airy bright and spacious room overlooking the garden and tennis courts, on the top floor. Staff very helpful and welcoming.
Further Comments: Easy to find and in a quiet area. The room was large and there was a decent sized en suite. It was very clean, well furnished, good wardrobe and storage space If I was staying for longer I would ask for a room with a separate shower ( personal preference) but the facilities were more than adequate for our one night. Breakfast was good.A wide selection of cereals and fruit juices and a variety of hot dishes. As breakfast is a buffet style affair you can help yourself to as much of the hot dishes as required. A good mix of sunday papers available. Staff were very helpful, for example booking the taxi to take us to our social function, and it arrived on time. The staff made you feel very welcome and were very friendly, all in all a lovely experience.

Good Points: The bathroom was excellent although the fan system was loud and is always better manually.
Bad Points: Awkward to access in the hotel and no central heating in the room
Further Comments: The staff were helpful. The food was ok. If there is a function then it is a problem because of the noise and space. The hotel is a little out of the way. A general view is that it was an expensive stay.

Good Points: Services and Staff are very friendly, accommodating and professional. The rooms are fine, and the general sitting room area downstairs is warm, with a lively glowing fireplace and bright. All the Staff are very attentive, professional and friendly. The manager drove some of our party to a walking path near-by, which was a kind and much appreciated gesture. Additional requests (for tea in the downstairs sitting area for our visitors) were fulfilled promptly, courteously and with a friendly smile. The receptionists eagerly helped in arranging our local transport and came forward with many helpful suggestions that made our stay at Preston Cross Hotel a success. Bad Points: So many fire doors to go through to get to our rooms, however, the quiet nights more than compensated that minor inconvenience.

Good Points: Room a good size, all in working order, clean
Further Comments: My only complaint was that there was nobody at the check-in desk when I arrived and I had to find a member of staff to serve breakfast on Saturday morning. I suspect that this was due to the level of business that weekend - very few/if any guests apart from ourselves. However, the evening meal was excellent, accommodation v. clean and all in working order.

Further Comments: Great location for getting around Leatherhead & surrounding area. Room had a great view of the lawns. Didn't use the restaurant as always appeared empty! Good breakfast.
