Further Comments: Even though booked well in advance, we were allocated a room backing onto a function room that had a loud disco running till 1.00 am on both nights of our stay. We were moved on the second night, but only because another patron had cancelled. The early morning call for 07.00 came at 07.20. The breakfast booked for 07.15 - 07.30 arrived at 07.45 minus milk for tea/coffee and any utensils with which to eat. The kettle did work, but without the appropriate light to confirm it was on and some dodgy wiring. The toilet seat hinge was broken, making use of the seat a novel experience.

Further Comments: parking facilities as we had to leave our car in a council car park over night.

Good Points: This friendly staff and spacious rooms with comfortable beds
Further Comments: We are a group of adults who have never stayed here before but was surprised to find the swallow george hotel a friendly hotel with a lovely atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and as i shared my room with 2 other people i slept on the sofa bed which was surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom is also spacious with a bath and shower above the bath and complimentry body wash which is a lovely little luxury. We only stayed overnight but even though our stay was short it was very pleasent and would stay here again as its value for money.

Good Points: Old style hotel with character.
Bad Points: Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Upkeep and maintenance of hotel (carpet was detached from the stairs, doors to rooms and internally damaged, not painted). Carpet cleaning. Fixtures and fittings old and marked.
Further Comments: The hotel was adequate. Had some of the staff been friendlier and/or more helpful, we would probably book again - even though the maintenance was not to the highest standard. We didn't dislike the hotel, and the food in the bar was good. With a little bit of extra effort it could have been pleasant, but it was just OK.

Good Points: Very nice breakfast - good selection for vegetatians
Bad Points: Cleanliness of room - generally was OK - but some areas such as the shower could have done with a bit more of a thorough clean!
