Good Points: Hotel nicely situated - very nice bar area - friendly staff
Bad Points: Resturant was very poor - the evening meal was just slightly better than the beakfast which was buffet style and cold. We later chose to eat out of the hotel. The rooms were very sparce (deluxe apparently) - However this did not effect our time spent at the hotel
Further Comments: In summary the hotel is really quite nice, but the resturant lets down the whole experience. The evening meal was very basic for the price and the breakfast was poorly presented and cold. In fairness we only had a cooked breakfast, so i cannot comment on the other breakfast options. Finally the room was very basic and un-welcoming - A dissapointment to that of what we expected considering how modern the corridors and the subsequent decoration presented. I would recomend the hotel on the strenghts of the plus point i have raised, but i would advise colleagues to eat out!!

Good Points: Expectation of usual Thistle chain standards of cleanliness. Central location.
Bad Points: Usual studied indifference of staff. Nothing specific but you know they are underpaid and overworked, just like all hotel staff.
Further Comments: Having stayed at various Thistle hotels around the country over the past few years, you know you are going to get an acceptable level of cleanliness and courtesy. However, breakfast at ￂﾣ12.95 is ridiculous, so it was a good excuse to check out local eateries - great veggie breakfast for ￂﾣ2.10 at greasy spoon caff around the corner.

Good Points: very central. Easy walk to everything. Central station with buses are right there. Perfect location
Bad Points: Didn't fill up the coffee the next day.
Further Comments: A great hotel, with easy walk to everything. Open at all hours.

Good Points: Fantastically positioned hotel, right in the city centre
Further Comments: This is an idea hotel to stay in, right opposite the railway station but you wouldn't know it, there was no noise. The electric buses run every 10 mins right around the city and down to the quayside from 7.00am to 12.00pm the bus stop is right outside the hotel. We had a splendid stay at this hotel and i strongly recommend it.

Good Points: the staff were very good friendly and helpfull
Bad Points: the first night of my stay I thought I was in a converted broom cupboard I managed to get changed into a better room on my second night which was very good. thanks to staff on reception
Further Comments: I would have liked a smoking room as requested when booking was made seems like a first come first serve policy was in place. plus notification of limeted parking would have helped when planing my trip. otherwise very good location and as I said before very good staff.

Good Points: It was close to the train station.
Bad Points: The miror in the bathroom was too far from me.
Further Comments: I expected a double bed instead of a twin. What's the point of booking a twin when you state that you are 1 person during the booking?

Consiglio molto anche ai nostri amici prima di effettuare una prenotazione di consultare active hotels dove i suggerimenti dei visitatori precedenti si avvicinano molto alla veritￃﾠ

Good Points: Room 227 (the replacement room for 231 the next day) was good. On the back of the hotel, quiet, clean, etc. All facilities worked in both rooms. Staff accomodated request to change without any resistance.
Bad Points: Room 231 was on the street, near a stoplight, and was noisy until 3:30 a.m. when all the street people finally went to bed.
Further Comments: I should have asked for a room off street-side to begin with. Will do next time.

Good Points: Location,comfort and a great breakfast!
Bad Points: The room was a little bit small
Further Comments: This was a comfortable, well located hotel in the heart of Newcastle, with parking facilities behind the hotel. Our room was warm and cosy, if a little on the small side for the amount of furniture (two double beds). The bathroom was of a high standard and there were tea making facilities. The breakfast was really excelent and the staff friendly.

Good Points: The room was big and clean.
Bad Points: I stayed in 2nd floor, and I had to walk down some steps and up some steps again from the lift. The bathroom was a bit small.
Further Comments: Nice room, friendly staff, nice reception.

Further Comments: Would have expected breakfast to be included in the price of ￂﾣ84 per night for a twin room, nearly ￂﾣ13 seems very high for, say, tea and toast. Otherwise, this particular Hotel is very well situated for everything in Newcastle, opposite the Railway Station, short walk to shops, Arena and Quayside.

Further Comments: We loked at hotels in Newcastle and thought this to be an ideal location just opposite the central station , metro and bus services. It turned out our choice was correct and must admit that the reviews on trip advisor were unjust and not true i.e. we found the location and value for money excellent and would recommend to other people.
