Good Points: spacious very clean shower was very powerful
Further Comments: All our needs were met before arriving through advertising and booking process. We felt well informed about where we would be staying and staff were very helpful. Highly recommended and we will return.

Good Points: Reasonable size room, nicley furniched.
Bad Points: Looking a bit tired.
Further Comments: Shower was red hot, and with a broken thermostat could not be adjusted. Not the ideal start to a morning. Worst of all was that the morning actually started at 6.00 when the fire alarm went off and all the guests stood outside freezing for half an hour. This is my second stay at Thistle Haydock but I am unlikely to return.

Good Points: Clean, Friendly, Very good breakfast.
Bad Points: Very busy hotel. A lot of function guests - many non-resident

Good Points: good location, great restaurant, obviously a high quality hotel, good price
Bad Points: bathroom was showing signs of wear and tear. small thing - there was no shoe shine sponge in room
Further Comments: overall very good. staff were great. food in restaurant was a bit fussy but good (e.g. fixed menu steak doesn't need a massive pile of red onions on top. the meat was fine on its own). wine list too slanted to new world, especially the by the glass and half bottle selections.

Bad Points: As we are both a little arthritic we found the mattress quite hard There was a constant hum & vibration in the room, enough to keep me awake all night, but not my wife. I suspect it was from the exercise and pool area which was ajacent to our room (201)
Further Comments: We found it a very pleasnt environment. Finding particularly what was included and what was not easy. Would like to know what the breakfast arrangements were

Further Comments: I left a shirt in my room. A day later the cleaner doesn't remember finding my shirt and no one from the hotel is prpared to comment. I had done this once before while staying at a Premier Travel Inn. Within 5 minutes of finding my shirt, the hotel had notified me, sent the sirt to be laundered and arrange for it to posted to me. If a budget hotel can do this then I don't know what catorgry i would put the Thistle in. And they wonder why budget hotels are popular, it is not on cost but on service and I would expect more from a Thistle hotel.
