Good Points: Grand. Clean. Good value for momey.

Good Points: overall the hotel was clean and tidy and it was also close by to the city centre.
Bad Points: there was no hot water and when reported to reception reply was that as the hotel was not busy the boiler was set on low so the water was only luke warm.

Good Points: Room very clean and a decent size. Beds comfortable. Bathroom looked new and shower had decent pressure/was hot. Location excellent - very close to city centre.
Further Comments: On the whole, great value for money and ideal for an overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in assisting with special requests.

Good Points: The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning effective.
Bad Points: Desk light did not work. No cold water in the evening, and neither hot nor cold water in the morning. it was not possible to make coffee, nor to shave, shower, nor flush the lavatory.
Further Comments: If a water main had not burst, this would have been a pleasant stay in a well located hotel. As it was, I ended up attending a training event unshaven, unwashed and uncomfortable. Not their fault, but the subsequent offer of a 25% discount wasn't adequate, however as I was running to a tight schedule I was not able to take the matter up at the time.

Bad Points: The room smelt as if it had been occupied by smokers. Non smoking rooms would be preferable.

Good Points: A central hotel just off the M5. Modern reception area and dining room/bar. Linked carpark facility with 40% discount.
Bad Points: Water for bath/shower was not hot. Room very small (even for a single room) Broken draws. No Mini Bar Hot room, no self control heating. Poor picture on television.
Further Comments: Overall this is a good (but basic) hotel. My room was very small and very basic. The room was over heated and uncomfortable. Water for the bath/shower was not hot (warm). The furniture was broken and had no mini bar in the room. The quality of the picture on the television was poor. The room its self was very clean and sleepable. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Even though this hotel was very basic, I would return again if necessary.

Good Points: The environment created for my arrival at The Thistle Birmingham were helpful focussed staff on reception, and a delightful ambience to the room : classical music playing, a welcome message on the television screen and beautiful tidy furnishings.
Further Comments: The prices were what I associate as reasonable for accomodation (ie cheap in comparison with others) The staff were quick about a replacement kettle and the night reception just as quick about attending to my needs. All in all I had a pleasant stay and intend to return, and have already spoken highly of it to friends. Excellent facilities. (16 October 2006, twin room)

Good Points: ironing board and iron. hairdryer. comfortable bed.attractive soft furnishings. large bath towels. adequate storage space.
Bad Points: no shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries and makeup no separate shower compartment
Further Comments: I was very pleased with the accommodation apart from the comments above re the bathroom. The room was spacious and very well equipped. it even had a nice view of the cathedral opposite!

Further Comments: Comfortable and reasonably priced for a short stay. Convenient for centre of town. Staff friendly and efficient.

Further Comments: noisy - woke by cleaner on sunday morning cleaning the room next door there was loud music playing all morning outside the room very poor walking directions very out of date decor
