Good Points: The only positive thing was that it was a mere 400trds or so from the event I was attending
Bad Points: Check-In preferable away from the bar. Room security, direct access from the Public house/bar area for the general public. Room could have been cleaner. Rooms were very very 'tired' looking and need moderising. Heat in the corridor would be good. Ensuring that heat was on in the room prior to arrival would be very good. Hot water for a shower in the evening would help, although this did get warmer after a 30min + wait. Additional staff would have helped to get breakfast completed in a timely manner, it would also have been good if the plates had been warmed and that ALL of the food on the plate was warm. Clean crisp white or plain duvet and pillow cases would be better than dated frilly/floral designs. I don't think that leave much else.
Further Comments: I think you can get the general idea of my feeling with the answers in the previous question. I would hasten to add that the information is meant to be constructive and not to be taken wholey as negative. It served the need for the one evening that I stayed there and was close to the event I was attending. I do know the area and had been forwarned about the Hotel/pub. I was not very impressed with several teenagers/early twenty somethings using a Mini Moto bike in the car park in the evening, this I deemed to be both noisy and dangerous with potential damage to vehicles if control had been lost.

Good Points: Comfortable bed, helpful staff.
Bad Points: Some of those below
Further Comments: Room above adjacent Indian Restaurant kitchen and kitchen extractor fan was noisy. Noise from stairway outside room carried from pub entertainment area [pool table area]. Bed good/area clean. En-suite 'tired'. Side saddle WC stuck in a corner almost as an afterthought was unexpected as was the lack of a catch/lock or other fastening to secure toilet door. Lack of remote for TV was an inconvenience, staff reported all had been 'taken'. Next door 'Indian' well worth a visit.

Further Comments: This is a small hotel attached to a pub. We found it a trifle confusing getting in to the hotel and to the rooms until we eventually worked it out. Our check-in was at the bar (middle of the afternoon, not evening thankfully) and we were taken behind the bar to be shown to our room. Not an awe-inspiring welcome! The staff were all friendly and helpful but there were not many of them around during the day. Our room was basic but clean. The accommodation part of the hotel is full of olde-worlde charm with original beams etc. but did lead to a slightly confusing layout due to lots of small corridors on several different levels. Not ideal for those with mobility problems. Our stay overall was fair. No complaints about the staff or the service we received but this is probably a hotel better suited for overnight stopovers rather than a base for exploring the local area.

Good Points: Inexpensive, convenient location in Polesworth centre, late check out (11 a.m.).
Bad Points: General cleanliness. Single room price was ᆪ39-50 per night, but I was quoted ᆪ35-00 on the activehotels.com website.
Further Comments: An fair pub-hotel, good for short stays in the Polesworth area, although there is not much competition. Cannot comment on the food as did not eat there. Reasonably priced rooms, although you will not be blown away. All in all, a good place to 'crash' at the end of a long night.

Good Points: cLEAN
Bad Points: Check in procedure. Did not tell us about the small snug. Bar workers dirty clothing. Asked for money before showing room.
Further Comments: The fact that it did not have its own resteraunt - Indian on premises - so we went somewhere else for evenibng meal. The bar area was crowded and people foul - mouthed. Morning staff who gave breakfast were very friendly but it appeared they were cleaners not chef.

Good Points: affordable
Bad Points: Attention to detail
Further Comments: Hotel Ideal if you are looking for one or two nights its not really a hotel for a holiday but my partner and myself found it comfortable and affordable. Ideal for visting nearby attractions like we did,Drayton Manor and Twycross zoo. Resturant was very nice would of been nice if a small discount could have been given if staying in the actual hotel maybe the 10% they give for collection. Hotel was actually cheaper than advertised which was a nice surprise. Warm welcome was given.

Good Points: The water was hot!
Bad Points: The standard of furniture, fixtures, fittings, and decor in the room was very poor and shabby. The hotel entrance should not be via the Indian restaurant and breakfast should not be served in the Indian restaurant either!
Further Comments: Upon arrival I was appalled to find that the hotel entrance was via the Indian restaurant which was part of the pub, and that breakfast was to be served in it, which I hadn't realised from the description on the internet. The room was adequately clean, but the decor, furniture, fixtures and fittings were of a very poor, shabby standard. I usually stay at one of two other hotels within this vacinity (a Premier Travel Inn,and a similar Premier Inn style hotel)but both were fully booked. The internet description sounded very appealing and the price was on a par with my two regular hotels. However, the standard was well below that which I'm used to.The check out process was lengthly and the whole experience with the hotel from arrival to departure was totally unprofessional. This is not the type of hotel that a business traveller or leisure traveller would expect. It should be advertised for tradesmen who want a cheap B&B. For what it offers I would not expect to pay more than ᆪ25 per night B&B at most. The internet description is totally misleading and needs to be reviewed as a matter of urgency.

Good Points: Not a lot,it was adequate, however too small
Bad Points: bathroom/shower room,TV/no remote control/Bar unclean.Difficult to open door to room.
Further Comments: Exactly where Hotel was situated. That it was generally a locals pub and very noisy. That we would be unable to park in the Car Park because it was Carnival day. That the rooms would not be ready even though we didn't arrive until about 5:50pm. We were very unimpressed by general condition of Hotel.

Good Points: central location, historical.
Bad Points: could not find tv remote control.chest of drawers full of bedding.
Further Comments: I would have liked to be told that the indian restaurant would make the whole room smell. This was because our room was directly over the extractor fan in the kitchen. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was loverly.
