Good Points: The room itself was spacious and comfortable. the hotel and grounds were very clean and beautiful.
Bad Points: On the second day they had not provided any more tea.coffee or milk in our room, but had in my Mother-in-laws.

Good Points: Clean, modern. Lovely unusual rooms in grounds. Beautiful manor house.

Good Points: The gym and pool were reasonably good and the main house was a a good period house
Bad Points: It was nothing special
Further Comments: An OK hotel appears to be focused on the conference crowd and therefore rather impersonal. Service was fine but basic, rooms were fine but basic, hallway carpets were slightly grimy. I think that there are better value hotels locally and I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Good Points: Excellent value, great shower.

Good Points: The setting and the grounds were lovely and the bed was very comfortable.
Bad Points: Being unable to use the bar in the main building and having to eat dinner in the Metz bar because there was a wedding. The Metz bar was quite cold and the food very uninspiring. Also being able to hear the television from the room next door - the sound proofing is obviously not good enough.

Further Comments: Staff were lovely and very helpful. Leisure facilties were excellent although the changing rooms needed cleaning. The Bisto was the only disappointment. It lacked atmosphere and felt very cold and austere it needs some softening by furnishings. The Bistro food was adequate but I asked for pink tuna and it cam cooked through!! Again the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. All in all an excellent place forthe weekend.

Further Comments: While the main house part of the hotel containing the bar and restaurant were fine, the bedroom blocks (nothing like a mews style)were like going back to university.The room I was in, a single, had all the feel of a dorm room. It was v.small with plain white contiboard furniture and for the price I would also expect more than just a small portable TV without satellite channels. The hotel TV channel said it all when it was headed 'New Place Management Centre' which is essentially what the hotel appears to be. Overall very poor value for money.
